I just finished watching Sarah Palin's endorsement of Donald Trump and I have some observations.
Sarah Palin is a rhetorical genius. Like her or not, she's really good at political rhetoric.
And, I hope Trump is PAYING her, she's worth $5mil a month during the primaries so hopefully he'll be paying her at least $3mil/month.
This endorsement matters. She bring more "blue collar" credibility and conservative "good enough" to put all other GOP challengers back on their heels looking for life support.
This endorsement likely is the death knell for the Cruz campaign. I think it now means Trump will win Iowa, something I was sure he had locked up. I even contended aggressively with fellow Freepers on this matter. I considered it an illusion that anyone besides Cruz could win Iowa, but now I believe it will be Trump.
And Sarah Palin will be the reason.
Without Iowa, Cruz has no campaign.
Flame away, but do as well as you can to keep it civil.
Interesting notion, but it's still the Republican primary and his only real competition in Iowa is Cruz. This hurts Cruz and could push Trump over the top, but will it have the long-term effect you mentioned?

That statement does not help us win in November and it does not build comity with your fellow Freepers.
Good point. My husband has talk radio running all day, and as I respect Levin, I listen with one ear. Today I should have known better, but I was curious what he would say about Palin. Of course he berated her for supporting a crony guy who supports ethanol which is practically communism....
She’s ALWAYS been horrible at delivering speeches, IMO. Content GREAT, however.
Ted Cruz is not a Conservative regardless of hat you have been led to believe. Examine his votes. He is owned by the cheap labor express.

Sarah Palin is a conservative and a Christian, who detests big business and crony capitalism.
She endorsed a non conservative, big businessman, crony capitalist who is biblically illiterate while not endorsing a conservative enemy of big business crony capitalists and has a long history of brilliant conservative principles and is a committed Christian of long standing.

Dude, you haven’t posted since June of 2006, and now you resurface today, with a handful of posts all bashing Palin, Trump, and even act as some kind of concern troll suggesting that Free Republic needs to be renamed? You’ve got some serious resentments going on.

She was pretty much a “knockout” blow to Cruz.
I understand. I've been through several election cycles on FR and the Precinct Chairs come out at least every 4 years, if not 2.
But I contend they should be cultivated as they, too, have concerns that must be addressed.
And I'm the guy who wants to burn everything down.
What part of five year phase out was too complicated for you? Trump wants more and more ethanol subsidies and Cruz wants to phase them out. Who is the Conservative?
