For all the arguments that went on for years on this web site, talk radio and many other sites about Obama's eligibility.... If Cruz is eligible because his mom was a U.S. Citizen, then so is Obama because his mom was a U.S. Citizen.... Just saying!
It’s “new” and not “knew”.
To answer your question no.
I’m just asking some of Cruz supporters if they think Obama is qualified shall it come out he was born in Kenya? After all his mom was a U.S. Citizen, and that’s their argument for Cruz being born in Canada.
Of course she was a citizen. That has never been in question.
The issue is that, according to naturalization law in effect in 1961, she was not old enough at the time to confer citizenship IF the baby was born on foreign soil.
There has never been official and provable documentation produced that Stanley Ann Dunham gave birth to a son in Hawaii (or anywhere else for that matter) in 1961. The man in the White House may or may not be a citizen, natural born or otherwise.
It would be high drama should this issue go to court and somehow 0 be required to offer admissible proof of citizenship.
LOL
I new that. You have to get up to speed with FR local language.
We mispeil alot...on poipose.
For nOObs, it can seem like a Hughe and Series Mistake.
What’s is BS, is you claiming everyone knows it. My children were born in Berlin, Germany while I was serving in the US Army. They are natural born. Do you believe my Army service makes my children 2nd class citizens?
We canât agree with this because to my way of thinking, because the Constitution does not define the term. and because both the statutes and the case law have left the meaning ambiguous, it must be left to the public to decide. In Iowa they get a chance to give a yea or nye.
BTW, I am not convinced of where he was born, nor the year.
The year is just as important to the question of where he was born.
May I please answer your question, even though I do not yet support either Trump or Cruz?
Say Obama really was born in Kenya (or Canada, as some suspect) and Cruz was born in Canada. Both births clearly on foreign soil.
Say both their mothers had US citizenship.
The crucial difference, according to naturalization law, at least at the time of O’s birth, is age of the mother. Mrs. Cruz was older and had lived in the US long enough to confer citizenship upon her baby. Miss Dunham had not.
THIS is where they try to trip you up. Automatic naturalization requires no *process*, but that doesn't mean that child is a natural born citizen.
The question about Obama came about because he listed himself as being foreign born in Kenya, when he applied for special consideration on a college application.
Of course, that means he lied .. AND, he lied to get all the perks that go with being a foreign student.
And .. he’s never stopped lying about everything. Guess we should have figured that out a long time ago.
This whole thing just makes some of us look stupid.
If we couldn’t ace Obama on the NBC issue, you are not going to ace Cruz.
The cases are mostly clear (i.e., IMHO you are wrong), but the COURTS ARE NOT GOING TO TOUCH THIS. That is, unless Hillary is the Donk nominee and Cruz is the Republican nominee. Then and only then, the left wing judges might pay attention to a reading of the Constitution that puts Hillary in power.
That what you want?
My mom saved mine for me.
Hence all the MSM articles with the breathless "[BO], who was born in Hawai'i" as their lede. And at least one law professor who got all emotional over BO's birthplace. Something smells.
I cringe when I see or hear the words “just saying”. Same with “at end of the day”. Or the real old but still often used “win win”.
Neither are eligible. Nor was Jindal and nor is Rubio.
No one wants to touch it because they are disgusting cowards. See my tagline.
The comparison quickly breaks down when one considers that Ted Cruz has been open and forthright about who he is, whereas to date, the guy called Barack Obama has never proved his identity enough to satisfy a liquor store clerk.
At least one Freeper has mentioned this as a possibility.
0bunghole claims to have been born in HI. Only one forged document displayed on the internet to support the claim.
The issue was not whether or not she was a U.S. citizen. Try reading 2ndDivisionVet's post #3 again. It contains these words:
Obama's mother wasn't old enough at the time of his birth to confer citizenship.
2ndDivisionVet did not say, "Obama's mother wasn't a U.S. citizen." OK?
I'll copy one of my old posts below:
Read section "7 FAM 1133.2-2 Original Provisions and Amendments to Section 301" in this State Department document:Obama's mother was eighteen when he was born. The requirement was for at least five years after age 14. She was one year too young to have conveyed her citizenship to her son if he had been born outside the United States.http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/86757.pdf
...(a) The following shall be nationals and citizens of the United States at birth: (7) a person born outside the geographical limits of the United States and its outlying possessions of parents one of whom is an alien, and the other a citizen of the United States who, prior to the birth of such person, was physically present in the United States or its outlying possessions for a period or periods totaling not less than ten years, at least five of which were after attaining the age of fourteen years...
If you want more information, read this thread, that contains some of my posts:
“Try and keep up. Obamaâs mother did not fulfill the statueâs requirement that she live 5 years in the U.S., over the age of 16. In 1961, she was 19. According to the statute in effect at that time, she could not transfer citizenship to her âsonâ because his father was citizen of Kenya.
It had nothing to do with where he was born.”
But actually, there is no evidence that Obamaâs father was the Kenyan guy. For one thing, the marriage was void, as the fellow was already married, and has a wife back in Kenya. There is no evidence that the Kenyan bloke was the real biological father. A genetic test would be necessary. There is pretty likely a genetic profile on the President, but it has not been made public, in spite of his wife’s evident interest in genealogy.
