Ah....okay. I mean, I kinda am religious in that I talk to God whenever I want to and usually when alone down in the barn, but I never thought I might be anointed to rule over the whole of society.

I know there are people that deeply believe in this sort of religious thought, but I do not think it will transfer well in the general election, muck less out of Iowa.

A little humility is needed if this is true

What the hell?

This might play well in some circles, but I don't think this line of play is going to be successful in the long run.

Let's be charitable and chalk it up to a proud father getting a little carried away. I've been there myself.

http://theconservativetreehouse.com/2016/01/17/ted-cruzs-father-my-son-anointed-to-take-control-of-society/ His Father is a raving, lunatic fringe, religious nut case. If he ever got the nomination, the Media would use his Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs family to destroy him.

Basically they are praying for Ted.

This is a low blow. I guess if Christ scares voters they’d have a problem with church.

But this is a pathetic hit piece.

The Cruz Creepy factor is off the charts. Most FReepers who fall for Cruz' fake act don't even know about his connections to Glenn Beck and David Barton, who was among those who "annointed" Ted as a "king" in Iowa in 2013, or about Barton's deep ties to groups that PROFIT from the illegal alien invasion (Beck and Barton raised $2 million for their little get together handing out soccer balls and teddy bears -- with Cruz -- at the border in 2014)

Ted Cruz’s father actively fought for Fidel Castro and his revolution in Cuba.

So what say you Ted Cruz supporters about this? Ted’s dad apparently thinks that Ted is the Lord’s anointed destined to take control of society.

I don’t understand why people don’t see how dangerous this kind of thinking is. I was raised in a cult. The only way to deal with them is to stay far, far away.

This is Ted’s micro targeted campaign message, almost exclusively to Evangelicals and no one else. There is no crisis or interview where he does not invoke IOWA, New Hampshire, and his prayer life.

I like that he is a Christian, but flogging it over a long period of time has made it seem embarrassingly close to a campaign tool, or pandering to one segment in a desperate must win attempt at Iowa.

Many Evangelicals noticed his absence in issuing a shred of support to other conservatives during their live or die campaigns fighting in their state elections, last round.

Now we learn he gave McConnell & Company in the NRSC, $200,000 dollars during that state election cycle, and which was unbeknownst to us, and which was used by the Barbour machine to issue the MISSISSIPPI TREATMENT against deeply conservative Matt Bevins, who was leading that race against the mule for the Establishment, Thad Cochran.

Cruz never uttered a peep to lend moral support, vocal support nor financial support to defend Bevins, who was an awesome TEA PARTY candidate, and was taken down by that effort.

ALL of us at FR were enraged at the Establishment behavior, and Cruz was good for advancing it, to the tune of $200,000.00. Unforgivable.

He’s just a proud father, with above average articulation.
It’s not as though there was a YouTube video showing Dad placing a jeweled crown on Teds head
or wrapping a stole of ermine across Ted’s shoulders.

It's often been said that religion has a role to play in getting people to behave so that civil society will work. Cruz's behavior makes religion look ridiculous and destroys its moral authority.

I won’t watch the video, but did poppa Cruz tell the congregation to “Put on the Armor of God” and to “raise and energize the Body of Christ” in the name of Ted Cruz?

Maybe a lot of Americans don't go to church anymore because this is the kind of weird sh*t that goes on in them.

Is his father running for President?
