Lay off New York, Ted Cruz
Hot Air ^ | 1/15/2016 | Mike Lupica

Posted on 01/15/2016 5:17:47 PM PST by BlackFemaleArmyColonel

The next time Cruz shows up here he should tear himself away from his friends at Goldman Sachs and make a side trip to the Bronx and explain himself there on New York values; or to the Lower East Side, or Williamsburg, Brooklyn, or Jamaica, Queens, or 125th St. in Harlem. He should go talk to people in the Rockaways or Staten Island, the hardened survivors who bound together after Hurricane Sandy, about New York values. Or finally he should go all the way downtown, and back to September 2001.

Here is what New York values are: New York values are a young guy, a paralegal, literally giving somebody he doesn't know the shirt off his back on a subway because winter has finally come to the city and brought freezing temperatures with it. New York values are the New York taxi driver who traveled three boroughs across four days to find the guy who had left $1,400 in his cab, so he could return the money to him. You know what that really was? It was the real life of a city that Ted Cruz knows nothing about. He is simply another tourist here, one constantly on the make.

The best of this city is the best of this country, and always has been. When it was hit in a way that no American city had ever been hit, it came together and rose up together in a moment as thrilling as any America had ever seen.

"North America is different from other regions of the world and must find its own cooperative route forward. A new North American community should rely more on the market and less on bureaucracy, more on pragmatic solutions to shared problems than on grand schemes of confederation or union, such as those in Europe. We must maintain respect for each other's national sovereignty."

Born and raised in Queens NYC.

An exciting and tough place to live. Neighborhoods are everything and people do take care of each other.

NYC has both the kindest and the meanest people I know.

I am partially retired in Pennsylvania now. NY just got too expensive to live in without working at heart-attack level.

Everyone knows what Cruz meant by his remark and I think that at this point the people complaining about it look like silly pansy asses (as my father would say).

The Govenator did great too. Trashed all the girlymen opponents. He was an outsider not beholden to anyone and was saying mostly all the right things and that was enough. Never mind no history of actually doing the right thing.

And then he got elected. And then he become just another California Liberal doing what liberals do. More green stuff, more taxes, more spending.

And yet the Trumpinator will turn out differently somehow...

Only if you stick your head in the sand.

Lord how stupid is this guy.

A lot of New Yorkers are real sick of value-less New York values, the kind typical of De Blasio and Cuomo and the City Council, and they were delighted to hear Ted name the elephant in that room. As Levin pointed out tonight, it's the Communists like De Blah-blah who have been sticking it to the cops and firemen for decades.

Heidi Cruz is a vice president in the Private Wealth Management Group at Goldman Sachs in Houston. There are many divisions with many vice presidents.

That isn’t the vice president of Goldman Sachs. Not even close. Does the truth matter to you at all?

I see a Winner in Trump who invest his time and money to only better America. There is not one in the crowd can win the General election or can draw as much enthusiasm since Reagan! My head has been and is still above ground and see nothing but a majority of republicans bowing to dems and Obama for almost 8 years. These same senators are wanting yet another vote for the Presidency. No and No to them All! TRUMP will WIN the nomination and when he does, maybe you’ll finally get the sand out of your eyes.

“That isn’t the vice president of Goldman Sachs. Not even close. Does the truth matter to you at all?”

I didn’t make the graphic. I posted it.

She is a VP of Goldman. There are many tentacles of Goldman. She is just one.

New York is a den of nanny-state Marxism, which absolutely does not square with any objective view of “capitalism.”

Lupica is also a sawed off little runt, an open and notorious fan of the, ummmm, Boston Red Sox writing for the NY Daily News, and a coward who pontificates politically in his sports column but allows no responses by internet.

"She is a VP" and "she is VP" of Goldman Sachs are two different things. You are posting graphics to promote what you want others to believe. But you won't take responsibility for the fact that isn't actually truthful in a very subtle way. "Somebody else made it" is your excuse as you promote it...

So you post stuff that misleads people and say it’s somebody else’s fault if they don’t read up on it and discover the truth for themselves.

I pointed out the error so clearly I can read and think for myself. It still remains unclear why you want to post things that mislead. Is your agenda strong than your integrity? If I post something in error and someone points it out I stand corrected and apologize. Apparently not you.

This issue with the new Russert video for context has moved to a new level...only leftists now are still clinging to this flimsy 9/11 Trump defense.

Who said anything about Bernie? Not understanding what powers own our political system is your problem. Wall Street bankers do not spend billions of dollars in campaign contributions into our political system for nothing in return.

And looking to maniacal blowhards like Mark Levin to tell you what the score is does not say much about you....newbie

It is essentially correct. Goldman has a boatload of vps. She is one. She got special treatment. Cruz is a beneficiary.

Goldman doesn’t care which party the give to, as long as the can buy influence. It buys them all and benefits from influence. Cruz is on the hook.

Cruz was characterizing Trump, not New Yorkers in general or at large.
