Lay off New York, Ted Cruz
Hot Air ^ | 1/15/2016 | Mike Lupica

Posted on 01/15/2016 5:17:47 PM PST by BlackFemaleArmyColonel

The next time Cruz shows up here he should tear himself away from his friends at Goldman Sachs and make a side trip to the Bronx and explain himself there on New York values; or to the Lower East Side, or Williamsburg, Brooklyn, or Jamaica, Queens, or 125th St. in Harlem. He should go talk to people in the Rockaways or Staten Island, the hardened survivors who bound together after Hurricane Sandy, about New York values. Or finally he should go all the way downtown, and back to September 2001.

Here is what New York values are: New York values are a young guy, a paralegal, literally giving somebody he doesn't know the shirt off his back on a subway because winter has finally come to the city and brought freezing temperatures with it. New York values are the New York taxi driver who traveled three boroughs across four days to find the guy who had left $1,400 in his cab, so he could return the money to him. You know what that really was? It was the real life of a city that Ted Cruz knows nothing about. He is simply another tourist here, one constantly on the make.

The best of this city is the best of this country, and always has been. When it was hit in a way that no American city had ever been hit, it came together and rose up together in a moment as thrilling as any America had ever seen.

I’m no fan of Goldman Sachs. As far as I’m concerned they represent New York values.

And?

Imagine that. Finding a democrat who hates Cruz. Must have taken a lot of digging.

Why not drag some other creeps over here too? I’m sure Rev. Al has a few choice words on Cruz.

It’s not “ad hominem” to call folks out for bring routinely wrong. But if this were meant to be an example of stopped-clock, it could have been fashioned that way. With other requisite alerts.

Oh, Goldman Sachs represents New York? They’re a liberal company with a culture of corruption right?

NYC temporarily rose out of its self-created liberal sewer after 911. Before long these supposedly tough, self-reliant city folks had their hands out to the federal guv to pay for a twin towers replacement (built at union wage rates and with labor wasting building codes).

More recently they were asking for millions more to cover extended health care benefits for those who claim injuries from 911. So, those current and retired city and state employees save their employers money on health coverage - all paid for by the rest of us.

Those are what New York values mean to me - deem yourself special, then demand somebody else pay the bill.

You know, when I first read about this, it reminded me of the crazy attacks on southerners. There are good people in every state. Do not attack everyone in a state over the actions of a few. It is like anti-gun people blaming every gun owner for the actions of a few. Get over it. No state is perfect just like no man is perfect.

I’ve always loved Dub “Cannonball” Taylor!

Those were some of my all-time favorite commercials.

To hell with New York’s liberal values.

Only liberals and Trump fanatics (but I repeat myself) are outraged.

Goldman Sachs is where the term, “too big to fail” came from. They are the bankers for the New World Order.

Pray America wakes

I'm not arguing.

So exactly at what level of employment at Goldman Sachs does one become responsible for what they represent?

Janitor, Secretary, low level manager?

And how does that compare to buying politicians for your own personal gain?

Your on the wrong board. You Bernie people aren’t going to be able to hide behind the shadows forever. That class warfare just oozes out.

Well, hoosiermama, to take your mind off libbylu’s name, you can always go indulge your Trump obsession and research his family tree a little more. You must be, what, into the 1800s now? You seem to know everything about his childhood, distant relatives, friends of relatives, etc., etc.

I hope you never meet him. You might rush him with an armload of flowers.

An article about the guy trashing Palin! Okay! I love Palin. I'm focused on TODAY! liberal media loves a fight between republicans, with that said. Trump is running as a republican, like it or not. Cruz lost on the debate against Trump, regardless who writes about it. My own eyes and ears witness it. TRUMP will Win the Nomination!

I lived in NYC for 6 years. It is not conservative, nor is upstate NY. However Trump’s answer really was off the mark in this way. When do Americans NOT jump in and help one another? After tornadoes, earthquakes, winter storms, hurricanes, you name it. Does it make them conservative? NO! Of course not. It means we are all human...well most of us...and we do not have hearts of stone. It has nothing to do with liberalism or conservatism, but humanity, taking care of one another. So, Cruz did not jump the shark there. Trump only proved that NY-ers are like the rest of the country, who jump in and do what needs to be done after a disaster. It has nothing to do with being conservative and Cuomo’s remarks pretty well prove Cruz’s observations.

Isn’t she on temporary leave until after the election? There are no absolutely pure Conservatives in the race.
