Republican presidential contender Ted Cruz should be disqualified from the race because he isnât a ânatural-born citizen,â a fellow Texan claims in a âbirtherâ challenge filed against the senator in a U.S. court.
Any parallels to Berg suit in ‘08 and this one? In the former, a former (?) Shrillary supporter brought suit against 0. In the latter, this lawyer that supports Bernie is bringing suit against Ted.
That Resolution is meaningless.
> I think the Courts will say this is a political decision
Then the Article II eligibility mandate is meaningless.
Congress would be the wrong avenue for most of these cases. McCain's case was different because there was no question about his parentage, and he was only born overseas because his parents were in active military service. So Congress can probably confirm military bases count as being born in the country.
Congress can't redefine "Natural born" by statue any more than they can redefine "firearm" to mean slingshot and then move to take firearms.
I am losing more respect for him as time goes on.
Then why is Obama in office? How come this does not apply to God-hating babykilling sodomists, only to constitutional conservatives? Wherefore the double standard?
He is scum, liberal, media-driven, pop-culture scum.
Doesn’t matter what track it gets put on. If it it’s not this, it will be something else. Cruz must be doing something right if he has both Trump and the Democrats quaking in their boots like this. Of course it’s a problem for Trump now when it wasn’t an issue 6 months ago. Trump is feeling the heat and Trump blinked. Not the cool cucumber some people thought he was.
Rest assured, if Bill Clinton were running as a Republican in Trump’s position, spouting the same talking points and making identical promises to conservatives, the Trumpettes would quickly change to the Clintonistas and would be donning their presidential knee pads. The past apparently doesn’t matter. What will you promise me this time?! Just say anything... Please?
Gullible little Trumpettes getting played. He’s a character right out of central casting right down to that grimacing Muppet puss of his and unfortunately for us, otherwise good conservatives are lapping it up. Sad...
Democrats: "do as we tell you to do, not as we do."
I hope you’re wrong too.
Because if Cheney didn’t allow an electoral college challenge against Obama, then no VP will allow an electoral college challenge.
And the house of representatives is spineless and still very much controlled by the uniparty.
If a judge wants to hear the case he can entertain the lawsuit in totality his courtroom.
So you’re assuming it just wouldnt’ve come up had Trump not said anything? Have you read The Emperor’s New Clothes?
Good, let’s get it over with.
Obama has occupied the White House since 2009 hasn’t he? But then again laws, rules, and regulations do not apply to Democrats. And as long as it is a Democrat that appears to be in violation of said laws, rules, and regulations, the Republican Party will defend them until the moon turns into green cheese.
I disagree. I think the Courts will be disinclined. The Roberts Court has bent over backwards to accept the decisions of the people through elections, and the decisions of their elected representatives, to the point of re-writing the law to save legislation. And that’s ultimately what they did with the kenyan anti-christ.
People mistakenly assume that forces that were in place to stonewall challenges to Obama are also in place to stonewall challenges to Cruz.
I’m VERY afraid that we are about find out just how brazenly hypocritical our judicial system really is.
Sort of.
Schwartz, 85, said in a phone interview he isn’t connected to any particular campaign, though he personally “probably” supports Bernie Sanders, the Vermont senator seeking the Democratic nomination.
You grasp the situation entirely.
That thing in the White House is not a President.
Furthermore, a natural born citizen can not have his or her citizenship revoked by any law. This is flatly stated in the US code. If congress held the power to define natural born citizenship, they would have the ability to both bestow and revoke natural born citizenship which would, for all intents and purposes, eliminate the distinction between citizen and natural born citizen made in article II section 1, paragraph 5. they would, in effect, be amending the constitution. They would also be violating natural law.
Congress has no authority to define natural born citizen for purposes of presidential eligibility.
