An illegal immigrant has confessed to killing American artist Ashley Olsen in her Italian apartment, who was punched and strangling her with a USB cord in a jealous 'drug-fueled' frenzy.
Cheik Tidiane Diaw, 25, told officers he strangled Olsen after the pair had sex when she told him he had to leave because her boyfriend was coming back.
The Senegalese man was caught because of DNA evidence from a used condom and cigarette found in the toilet - which he had tried to flush away unsuccessfully.
Italian police said they had to swoop on him quickly because they feared he was about to flee Florence.
The chief prosecutor said that the alleged murderer had initially given a false alibi to police when he was first questioned. He was freed but then re-arrested when his DNA was matched.
Olsen, whose funeral will be held in the Italian city tomorrow, suffered two fractures to the skull and was strangled with a USB cord.

So, she took a stranger home for sex. And the stranger decided that since she was just a slut it was okay to kill her. You and the other “silly game” guy apparently agree.

Sounds like the end of “Waiting for Mr. Goodbar.”

Iâd have to do a little more research but Iâm pretty sure itâs an undisputed fact that she voluntarily left a bar with him and took him to her home. She may have walked out of the bar with him. Beyond that you have no idea. Somehow you want to believe that the woman asked for it.

If there was no forced entry and she willingly left a club/invited the guy into her apartment, then for what purpose? This should be a lesson for any female out there; don’t invite strange men into your abode.

There are ztl/traffic/security cameras all over the streets in Florence to the point where authorities could possibly track their entire movements from the club to her apartment. The autopsy and surveillance video will tell the story. Again, don't leave bars with strange men you hardly know.

"Big surprise for her cuckolded boyfriend, too." This is Italy. The cuckolded boyfriend is lucky to not be in jail for the murder.

DNA evidence was the probably the last thing on his mind since there was plenty of it besides the condom/cigarette. After intercourse/a sloppy murder, all kinds of DNA evidence is left. DNA left in her fingernails/ his hair/his saliva/fingerprints etc...

It’s never O.K to kill anyone. Nobody has said that.
What’s also not O.K. is to get drunk, take drugs, leave a bar at 5:30 in the morning with a man, you don’t know. Take him home for sex and then tell him to leave because your boyfriend of 7 years will be home soon. Play silly games....But who am I to judge? Just because there is, apparently, a New Morality that I don’t understand or agree with?
