MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association wants to ban certain words from being chanted at high school games.
It is part of an effort to promote better sportsmanship. Here are some of the words and phrases they do not want to hear:
Sieve, Air Ball, Seasons Over, Over-Rated.
The association says these chants are “taunting and disrespectful.â€
The association sent a letter to athletic directors last month with the new guidelines.
It is getting attention now because a three-sport athlete was just suspended for five games for tweeting her criticism of the new rules. Her tweet did include profanity.
A spokesman from the WIAA says it is up to each school to decide if they will enforce the policy and decide the consequences.

I’m guessing that “Allahu Akbar” won’t be one of them.
When the ref made a bad call we used to chant “nuts & bolts, nuts & bolts, we got screwed”. I guess that would be considered disrespectful to the ref these days......what’s happening to us ?????

A sailor friend heard that cheer at a HS football game when he was stationed in Norfolk VA.
It is no longer acceptable to say "I see you"
We must, as a nation and society stand up against the PC boojit they dish out
Notice there is no demand to actually DO anything ...

The kids from Ashwaubenon (near Green Bay) went to their latest game with duct tape over their mouths and wrote WIAA over the tape. Very clever protest. Fwiw, the WIAA is already backtracking, understanding what idiots they are
“The Collective” is simply protecting our children. These are hateful and disrespectful, most likely racist chants.
“Allahu Akbar” is allowed. “Christ our Lord” is banned ...

That is good. Or how about being totally silent and just do some polite clapping, like at a tennis match.
These people are fools and must be mocked relentlessly.
How can you go to a hockey game in Wisconsin and not yell “Sieve!”

I’m guessing the chant, “get a rope, get a tree, hang the friggin referree” is out?!
People ought to chant, a’la some old Popeye cartoons that depicted him bashing Arabs, “Salami, Salami, Baloney”.
I like “Allyoucaneat Snackbarrrrrr!”
