After months of responding to Donald Trump's attacks by deflecting them, joking about them or just plain ignoring them, Ted Cruz struck back late Tuesday with a stream of pointed criticism directed at the GOP front-runner.
At events in New Hampshire and in radio interviews, Cruz took direct aim at Trump on several fronts: tying the billionaire to Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, questioning his ability to win a general election, casting doubt on his ability to serve as commander in chief and disputing his "New York values."
The swiftness and ferocity of the attacks is striking for Cruz, who said as recently as Monday that he didn't want to go to war with Trump. The two men are battling for the top spot in polls in Iowa, which host the first-in-the-nation caucuses Feb. 1. Cruz said Tuesday that Trump was clearly feeling the pressure.
Cruz took direct aim at Trump's competence. "Does a potential commander in chief know what the nuclear triad is, much less is he or she prepared and able to strengthen it and keep this country safe?" Cruz asked on "The Hugh Hewitt Show." In a Republican debate last month, Trump was asked about the nuclear triad and had trouble with the explanation.
And he jabbed Trump on the billionaire's cosmopolitan lifestyle. “I think he may shift in his new rallies to playing New York, New York, because Donald comes from New York and he embodies New York values,†Cruz told Carr.

I don't mind Cruz at all, but I have serious reservations about his viability. Time will tell.

Years later we got to see some of his notes entered into the Reagan library. One reads , I paraphrase from memory ..the pro lifers have their panties in a knot.
Worse still he never regretted appointing Sandra Day O to the Supreme Court. You would think he would have been devastated and felt like she was a terrible mistake.
We learn that Reagan planned his funeral while he still had all his marbles, and that he wanted Sandra Day O to be a big part of it.
Why did he Reagan think it was ok to kill a child prior to his conversion?
We see today so many have to explain why they were pro choice etc, well Cruz has no such problem, he has always been on the right side of all the Christian life and death issues
If people would just look at WHO Trump’s businesses cater to....and it isn’t the man on the street.... It’s all about the elites from politicians to international leaders and those in the entertainment industry....he “PROVIDES” the playgrounds for them to operate their business deals here and on the International Stage....which included meeting the most beautiful woman in the world via ownership of his Beauty Contest.
Aside from business it’s all about fun and play for the Elites...Trump creates and provides ‘their’ environment to conduct ‘their’ business....and he’s made millions doing so....and why his Hotels and Golf Clubs are rated the highest...it’s not because of the man on the street....the Elites are his target audience.
Therefore imagine what he stands to gain by his “bid” for the Most powerful Position in the World”.....He already owns their environment of work and play when they do business Internationally.....and his son Eric is currently fast setting up deals for, and now happening, buildings and golf clubs for what they see coming should he win...even if he doesn’t win...the brand is now “Set”.
Remember what his daughter Ivanka said New Years Eve....it wasn’t about our country or the New Year.....She said “The Trump name will be in every household of America”.
This family is on a role and it’s not about the American People.
A Jebbie-Haley ticket is what millions have in mind for us.

Trump is not going to win even a single state in the south. Cruz will CRUSH him.
Trump is fine with homosexual marriage. He was fine with abortion before running for president, he is fine with one payer government healthcare. Becoming president will make his company even bigger and richer. His state of the union speech will be how much richer he is now than he was before he was president. A celebrity president.
When people are angry, they select an angry person to yell for them and cause destruction and that is exactly what Trump is - destruction. He enjoys making enemies of other celebrities, carrying on ridiculous tweets in the middle of the night to assail people he thinks are not fair with him. His definition of fair is total adoration from others.
Any criticism from anyone and he explodes - he requires total love from every person he encounters or he destroys them.
He will win because people are mad/angry. People are blinded due to his billions of dollars. When there is one criticism of him, posters say that cannot be true because he has billions of dollars so he must be wonderful no matter what he says or does or has done in the past.
Angry people want a King to make it all better. Put gold fixtures in the White House as he has in his apartment and airplane. Put the latest fashion on his model wife. Make it all beautiful as a King must have.
They will finally understand what their anger has done when they have to live under the dictatorship of a tyrant who demands unconditional love from his peasants or he swats them down. He has already said he will get millionaires to help him run the government. Unless you are a millionaire, he will have no time for you.
The country is lost. What a pity we killed ourselves out of anger instead of saving ourselves by rational thinking.

I would love to see Cruz become president, the only problem is he hasn’t got a snowballs chance in hell of winning against the democrats.
Every four years we’re told who can win and who can’t win and we shouldn’t waste our votes on someone who can’t win. IMO, like you, I don’t think Cruz can win. So, I’d like to see someone get the nomination who CAN win.

Can you show me one Southern state where Cruz is close to Trump? Cruz and Trump are tied in Iowa, Trump leads by 17 points in NH, three weeks out. Cruz is in 4th place. In SC, Trump leads by 11 points.
