One of his pupils was permanently dilated - after his friend George Underwood punched him in the eye while the pair were still at school. The fight was over a girl.
RIP Ziggy Stardust. First album I ever bought. I still listen to it decades later. Bowie was my first childhood crush when I saw him on the Bing Cosby Christmas special.
Great song
RIP
This is a surprise. Did not even know he was sick.
Bowie actually claimed in public in 1972 that he was gay. Jagger and Stewart pretended to be, and probably were MSM.
AWF, how on earth did you remember I am a Bowie fan? You are amazing. Thanks for the sad ping.
“Knowledge comes in death’s release,
And I ain’t got the power, anymore.”
“This is not America”
I always loved that song
I saw Alice about a month ago, opening for Motley Crue. Not alot of difference as far as quality of performance from when I saw him in the mid ‘80s. He was awesome.
RIP Bowie. Great songs and one of my wife’s absolute favorite artists. We had just discussed trying to catch a show if he went out this summer. Very sad.
I stopped listening to his albums in the 1970s but it's clear that I need to explore his later works, if that song is any indication of the quality.
I really like Major Tom. The version I had sounded like a German singer, but I bet Bowie did a bang-up job! Haunting.
Just had a feeling.
I’m surprised that no one has yet mentioned that Bowie had a spider named after him: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heteropoda_davidbowie
The first record I ever bought was his "Space Oddity" on 45rpm. That must have been, oh, 1972 or thereabouts.
RIP, Mr. Bowie.
He was always willing to try something different...

Then you’re even more amazing! I saw the guy four times. Once I sneaked a camera in. I pointed it at him, and—not making this up—he pointed his finger at me and did a fantastic combo of classic pose and facial expression. I.e.: he gave me a stellar shot...but for an instant it scared me witless.
Btw, he loved his supermodel wife deeply and devotedly. People spreading rumors need to recheck their facts.
The stars look very different today
