Wall Street Journal ^ | 1/10/16 | HARRIET TORRY

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz says he doesn't support sending forces to round up and deport illegal immigrants, likening such a policy to "a police state."

"I don't intend to send jackboots to knock on your door and every door in America, that's not how we enforce the law for any crime," Mr. Cruz told CNN in an interview broadcast Sunday.

Cruz does not want a mass deportation. He wants an itty bitty deportation.

“During an otherwise typical rebuke of Democratic and Republican leadership in Washington, Cruz paused to heap praise on longtime Senate Democrats who he said had shown principle: Ted Kennedy, Mike Mansfield and Robert Byrd. He said all three of the former senators would have rejected President Barack Obama’s approach to separation-of-powers issues.”

“The Trumpets are apparently OK with it though...”

Do you think that Trump would have sent Elian back to Cuba?

Do your homework it isn’t our job to educate you on what he said in that interview. I seem to recall it was something along the lines of ICE and we already have the force to do that job. To that he is 100% accurate. Something FReepers have been clam outing for for quite a long time enforce the laws on the books. But no many are caught up in this Hollywood election cycle through the formation of a new messiah. 7 years ago through hope and change we received the messiah we deserved.

This election cycle we seem to be trotting down that path yet again

Read what he said and not a main stream media snippet that was hand fed to you.

[This is media-manufactured nonsense. Cruz is saying no such thing.]

Funny how when the media manufactures headlines of what Trump says, Cruzers get their panties in a wad and go after Trump with torches and pitchforks.

What kind of dimwit are you? THE QUOTE is in the article post! Evidently Cruz advocates can’t read.

Lets be honest, Trump won’t do it this way, either.

Which is why I don't want Cruz as President of the USA,

It's precisely why I want Ted Cruz the be president. Someone who actually respects the constitution and obeys the law.

He's a good man in other respects except for his views on immigration and H1B visas (giving away US jobs to foreigners)

That is the exactly opposite of his policy on illegal immigration.
Ted Cruz's immigration plan is right here.
https://www.tedcruz.org/cruz-immigration-plan/

It's actually tougher than Trump's, who is going to bring illegals he deports back again..

“He said the law is also clear on illegal immigration — it is illegal — and that he would deport unlawful residents through regular law enforcement channels and e-verify, a system that allows businesses to determine if their employers are eligible to work in the U.S.

He said his plan does not include Mr. Trump’s call to go “door to door” to root out illegal immigrants for deportation.

“We don’t live in a police state,” he said.”

A true constitutionalist aka return back to enforcing the laws in the books and not forming even more laws or hiring a larger government work force to do it or make up laws as you go.

You were played by a snipet as many conservatives are and repeatedly are in this election cycle.

Get with it.

Illegal criminal tresspassers can claim no rights under the U.S. Constitution.

Nice try.

Interesting that it was the Mexican government who forced the US to create the program. They didn’t want to loose the cheap labor, while American farmers wanted more illegals.

Ted Cruz is exactly right. This is not Nazi Germany. We have the rule of law, due process, the constitution. Without all that, we are just another third world dictatorship.

Godwin’s law (or Godwin’s rule of Nazi analogies)[1][2] is an Internet adage asserting that “As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1”—that is, if an online discussion (regardless of topic or scope) goes on long enough, sooner or later someone will compare someone or something to Hitler or Nazism.

Yes, but if you send out a “deportation force” to raid all kinds of houses and find ever last illegal to deport, you are going to end up trampling on the rights of a lot of citizens and legal resident aliens in the process.

Says who?
If an illegal is caught and tried for murder, are they/do they follow normal due process or try them in a kangaroo court?

Sometimes the analogy fits and Trump goes to a lot of effort to constantly flirt with that line. I also have never heard him denounce David Duke or the neo Nazi website the daily stormer which both have endorsed him.
