Almost everyone is familiar with the most devastating loss for the Professional Political Establishment in the 2014 election cycle, the primary defeat of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor by insurgent patriot Dave Brat.
Fewer people recognize how devastating the loss was for the globalist DC elites who were less than two days away from approving the Gang-of-Eight Amnesty Bill known as "Comprehensive Immigration Reform".

With the vote count "whipped", and with enough House votes to pass identified, Speaker John Boehner was set to hold the vote on Thursday June 12th 2014. Cantor was defeated (primaried) Tuesday June 10th, and the "whip count" disappeared almost immediately.
The GOPe vowed to retaliate against Brat. Last week they began to make their moves:
RICHMOND - Longtime Henrico County Sheriff Mike Wade will challenge Rep. Dave Brat for the Republican nomination to represent the 7th District in Congress.
Wade, 59, a former Henrico Republican Party chairman who has served as sheriff for 16 years, filed organizing paperwork for a campaign committee with the Federal Election Commission in December.
The filing puts to rest rumors that have persisted for weeks that Wade would mount a challenge to Brat.

Take out the rest of them. Then they wont’ have any time or resources to aim at Brat.
Love Dave Brat.....wish I could vote for him but just outside his district. VA did just redistrict areas near Richmond/Williamsburg. Wonder if that will effect Brat at all.....will see if I can find the map of what the redistricting is now

If the GOP Establishment types were as vindictive against the Democrats who were peddling the same snake oil as they were, the Democrats would have been supplanted decades ago, by the more liberal Republican counterparts known as “RINOs”.
But we would have still had the same two-agenda split we now see within the Republican party.
This may or may not have been a good thing. At best, it is clumsy and inconvenient, but when it comes to politics, clumsy and inconvenient may not be a bad thing.
It sure would keep a lot of questionable legislation from becoming law.

I like Brat and endorse him.
I don’t see the need to refer to some guy daring to run against him as “spiteful retaliation” though. Establishment toads have every right to run some loser against him without it being considered some sordid plot.

It will affect him. He loses a couple of places that voted for him in the last election. Not only that, but Randy Forbes’ district is being impacted & I heard a political talking head on the local news saying that Forbes may run for Brat’s seat.

Ronald Reagan described the process that was used to deny him the GOP nomination by RINO Gerald Ford’s minions like Haley Barbour ‘the world with its pants down’.
From top to bottom, the GOPe will go rock bottom with dirty “Porn Politics” to take out Trump, Cruz, Mr. Brat or anyone else who gets in their way and doesn’t toe the party line.

Will it be “spiteful retaliation” if conservatives run another candidates against Thad Cochran (he’ll retire but pretend he doesn’t) in 2020?
It’s a dumb way of putting it. It’s people from one faction of the party exercising their perfect right to oppose someone from another faction in the primary just as conservatives exercised their right to oppose Cantor in the primary last time.
If you see them trying to help the rat beat Brat in November THAT would be “spiteful retaliation”.
Wade will lose. People in the 7th love Brat.
