The cover-up is often worse than the crime. This cover-up was awful. Raped girls were further victimized by police and news departments who shamed them, called them liars, told them that their rape was isolated, and threatened them (extortion!) if they weren’t quiet about it.
The lies, cover-ups, and outright extortions against the rape victims weren’t carried out by Islam...weren’t part of an Islamic jihad.
