The longer sentences were given down because the US Attorney appealed the short sentences based on federal guidelines. Not double jeopardy because they were only tried once.

These people are ranchers not press secretaries with huge taxpayer funded staffs assembling every word for a media interview. Again you are falling for the appearance of "unreasonableness" of what are simply normal Americans on TV.

I don't have such a staff, yet I would have prepared as I said. Am I really that special? I think not.
