Until White America looks at Tamir Rice and sees their own children...
Salon (Who Else?) ^ | 12/29/2015 | Chauncey Devega

FULL TITLE: Until White America looks at Tamir Rice and sees their own children, there will be no racial justice in the U.S.

~snip~

The failure to indict the police who killed Tamir Rice, Michael Brown, Eric Garner, Rekia Boyd, and so many others forces an uncomfortable question. Could it be that black people in America (and the West, more generally) are somehow “stained”? Are they marked for special punishment? Is the Curse of Ham real, does that Judeo-Christian mythology from the era of colonialism, white empire, and chattel slavery endure into the post civil rights and ostensibly “post racial” American present?

Research in psychology and other fields has demonstrated that many white people do not feel that blacks are worthy of empathy. Other work shows that many white people possess a deep subconscious belief which dehumanizes black people by linking them with apes and other primates. Psychologists have also determined that white people consistently view black children as being older than they actually are. Other research has shown that white people believe that blacks have superhuman, magical powers. Implicit bias research suggests that approximately 50 percent of whites (as well as members of other groups) hold racist and prejudicial attitudes towards black people.

And of course, America’s police are quicker in their decision to shoot unarmed black people than they are whites in the same scenario. Likewise, America’s police also somehow believe that harmless objectswhen held by a black person are transformed into lethal items such as guns and knives.

These examples suggest that the White Gaze views “blackness,” and by implication, black people, as toxins in the white body politic, a human curse, or even worse as “takers” and social parasites.

We have two one jobs as parents:

1) Protect
Prepare our kids from for the world
2) Protect the world from our kids

Properly do the first and there is no need for a second.

With the video showing him pointing that pistol in peoples faces unlikely that any CHL holder in Ohio that shot that kid would not see an indictment. It is beyond a doubt that they would never see a conviction or even a trial. Most of the Common Pleas judges would throw it out.

Too much evidence, video evidence, of menacing. A pistol like that pointed at people, in some instances, directly in their face, is more than enough evidence to keep a person out of court, certainly out of prison.

As for the dispatcher, we do not know what the procedures for them are. Telling police officers that a weapon may be a toy, could put the officers at greater risk. Not much to go on with the dispatcher. Criminal negligence is way over the top. Possible discipline hearing and suspension.

Please provide ONE image link from the surveillance video showing Tamir “pointing the pistol in peoples faces.”

Please provide one 911 call audio of a complaint indicating that Tamir “pointed the pistol in [my] face.”

If it exists, you should be able to find it easily enough.

(Hint: You can’t. It doesn’t exist. You are making up a story that isn’t entirely true. He raises the pistol and points it at stuff off camera. In *one* instance, he *may* point it at a passerby, but the video is VERY unclear, and the passerby does not run off but instead calmly walks on, indicating that, if Tamir did point the pistol at the person, they did not seem particularly alarmed.)

There is plenty of video out there. Surely you can provide a screen cap to bolster your (completely fabricated) claim that Tamir was “pointing it in peoples faces.”

The guy making the phone call is sitting in a gazebo just YARDS away. He’s not running off because of the eminent threat. He’s calmly sitting there telling the 911 dispatcher that it is probably a fake gun.

Yeah - Tamir was a REAL terror to the people on the ground.

You’re making sh!t up to justify shooting kids playing with fake guns - something most of us older guys did all the time when we were younger. Hell, maybe you are a hoplophobe yourself. You see someone with a gun, fake gun, or gun-shaped object and your first impression is, “Eek! I’d better shoot first!”

You can believe anything you want. However, the FBI The OBCI, The County Sheriff Department and the Grand Jury all had independent investigations and all came to the same conclusion. Tamir Rice was killed by police in a manner that was consistent with the rules of use of force. No crime was committed by either officer.

I don’t have to provide you with any proof. The outcome of the investigations, the videos and the news articles are all available for you to prove that Tamir was somehow in the right and a victim of some crime. It would be yup to you to provide information that would somehow change their minds. You seem to think that they are all wrong.

If somehow you think that the entire Holder run FBI, the entire Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department are all somehow in cahoots to do an injustice to Tamir Rice, hos family and the Black community, I guess that makes you a very smart and perceptive person.

As it stands you are simply a Monday Morning Quarterback safe and sound in your exurb home ranting bull$hit about things you know nothing about. I imagine that is the normal course of things.

Go back to your exurb home and cry for Tamir. As for the majority of the citizens of the City of Cleveland we have heard enough about him and his entire ghetto family. Particularly the hair hat harridan crack whore mother who has nothing but dollar signs in her eyes as she and her ambulance chasing lawyer salivate over the pay out they expect to receive from the tax payers of the city.

I will remember this post when the legal authorities clear Clinton of any wrongdoing regarding her emails. Obviously, per your infinite wisdom, they never get it wrong.

Still waiting on that pic of Tamir waving a gun in people’s faces. With 30 minutes of video to work with you should be able to get it. You’ll find it right next to the video of Michael Brown with his hands up saying “don’t shoot.”

I love how you change the subject when I call you out on your li... er... factually incorrect statements. Keep making claims that aren’t true. A kid is dead. His mother may be a piece of shit, but so is the dispatcher who made the whole thing happen. You listen to that 911 call again and honestly ask yourself whether Tamir Rice had to die. If you still believe it to be so, I have a funny feeling it’s because you’re just rotten to the core - a hateful person without Jesus anywhere near your heart.

Blow it out your backside!

Typical exurban fool Monday Morning Quarterbacking.

Followed up with more of your bullshi+ calling out the kind of person I may or may not be. Typical.

You make a good liberal calling into question people’s character simply because they disagree with you.

Tamir Rice died because of a series of unfortunate events and mistakes. The only mistakes that broke the law where the ones he made. One being Aggravated Menacing. Simply taking a weapon like that ion and out of his pants and pointing it around in public is illegal in the state of Ohio.

If you watch the video you will see him pointing his pistol at one person in particular. That person is whited out as they remain anonymous. It is obvious he is pointing his gun at that person, right in his or her face! He started doing so while off screen.

The 911 caller stated that he pointed his gun at people, NOT A PERSON, PEOPLE, and was taking it in and out of his pants. The 911 caller also stated that the gun might be fake, as in it might be real as well. Quote “I don’t know if it is real or not”

No one is saying that he should have died. The fact is that he did. He died because he was being stupid, something allot of 12 year olds do, but this one he did in a city park in a high crime area and the police came and shot him.

Here is the 911 call:

No, dude. You are a terrible person with a black, evil heart who wishes to see black children die so the black community gets their lesson on not being thugs. I hate black thugs, too, but I do not consider the death of this 12 year old a great thing like you do. You should pray on it. Your heart has become a sick and shriveled thing that most good people should reject. You worship at an altar of death, gleefully celebrating the death of children. A 12 year old is not quite able to grasp the consequences of his actions, yet you want him summarily executed for them. Keep carrying your hate around like an albatross. Fortunately, the saner lot of us don’t need the bird around your neck to see you for what you are.

Has anyone noticed that they have never seen a black person be told to obey the rules and norms of mainstream society?

You are evil.

When you call someone out as bad because you don’t agree with them makes You evil. To even act so high and mighty makes you a scumbag. SCUM BAG!

It is just what liberals do. Whenever they lose or are losing an argument based on facts they pull out the feelings card.

Well, facts don’t care about your feelings or anyone else’s. They are simply facts.

No one wanted that kid dead. It is very sad. However, simply because he was 12, something no one knew at the time, does not make any one else involved guilty of a crime. The multiple independent agencies that looked into the FACTS all agreed. No one was guilty of a crime in the death of Tamir Rice.No One!

You are the twisted fake Christian and you are the one so quick to condemn those you do not know and about things you know even less of.

You are the one who needs to pray for redemption and forgiveness.

You lost the argument long ago. We all know because of the way you lashed out like the evil, liberal, fake Christian, loser that you are.

uh huh. Keep telling yourself that. You blather on about facts, but when I point out your lies, you change the subject. You have still to provide one screenshot from the readily available video showing Tamir Rice pointing the gun directly in someone’s face, as you continually lied about.

Don’t talk to me about facts when you are the demonstrable liar here.

And, while I’m sure you go all pajama boy and wet your pants at the very sight of a gun in someone else’s hands, toy or not, my military training gives me enough situational awareness to recognize when a person’s actions actually represent a threat. My military training has also taught me not to give kids contradictory commands and then shoot them when they pull out the (fake) weapon to drop it, as commanded.

I also love how you claim no one is guilty of a crime, but Tamir, who is guilty aggravated menacing - without any sort of trial whatsoever because he was frickin’ summarily executed. Is that the standard penalty for the aggravated menacing crime you CLAIM he was guilty of? We’ll never know if he was guilty as you charge because he never gets his day in court.

But the best part of your post in the utter hypocrisy. You lie about the facts, comport yourself in an insulting, demeaning fashion, using some trendy insult you picked up (exurb), all so you can gloat over the death of a 12 year old kid.

Congratulations. You won. A kid is dead because the dispatcher failed to share critical information and you can feel good about yourself, you small pathetic man. You are SO right. This is EXACTLY how this situation should have gone down. There is NO WAY this situation could have possibly been handled any better.

I hope you never get SWATted, because you’ll learn your lesson the hard way. In the meantime, have fun pissing on Tamir’s grave, you rotten puke.

Remember that he was a stocky 5’7” 12 year old, with a realistic gun. That is huge from my personal 12 year old son who is not even 5’ tall and skinny. There are plenty of gang bangers shorter than 6’7” and weighing less than 170 lbs.

If you ran around, at 12 years old, pointing a realistic-looking gun at strangers in a public park, then I question your intelligence and/or upbringing. We're not talking 5 or 6 or 7, we're talking 12 years old.

At 12 years old I didn't even play with toy guns because I had a real one, and had it since I was 9. I can't even remember being an age when I would have thought it was a good idea to do what this kid was doing, especially in a neighborhood like his. Even if it's not unsafe, it stupid and mean to try and scare people for fun.

I don't blame the kid, or think he deserved to be shot. There's about a million other people, starting with his mother, and probably including the entire Democrat party I blame for it, with beleagured ghetto cops being pretty far back at the end of the line.

I think it’s more dehumanizing to black people to accept their preternaturally high rates of violent crime as if they can’t help it.
