Donald Trump defended and expanded upon his attacks on the Clintons on Tuesday, asserting once more that mentioning former President Bill Clinton's past infidelities was "fair game" if Hillary Clinton kept hitting him for his own views on women, bringing up Monica Lewinsky and Paula Jones as examples.
During a telephone interview with NBC's "Today," Savannah Guthrie asked the Republican presidential candidate about an early-morning tweet in which he recalled the former president being called a racist for comments he made while campaigning for his wife against then-Sen. Barack Obama in 2008.

"I can get you a list, and I'll have it sent to your office in two seconds but there was certainly a lot of abuse of women," he volunteered. "You look at whether it's Monica Lewinsky or Paula Jones or many of them, and that certainly will be fair game. Certainly if they play the woman's card with respect to me, that will be fair game."
Despite his harsh words for the former president, Trump also said that he likes the fact that Bill Clinton is campaigning for his wife.
"He failed in 2008, he failed really badly, he frankly did a very poor job in campaigning, you want to know the truth. And perhaps he'll do well or perhaps he'll do poorly. But if he's going to play the women card, it's all fair game," he explained.

It seems that Savannah Guthrie enjoys covering the soap opera aspects of the campaign. She does seem to be mellowing and somewhat charmed by Trump.

It’s good because many of the democrat yutes that will be voting don’t know anything about how Mrs. Clinton attacked the accused women that Bill molested.
I really hope he doubles-down on this, with facts and data. It was a different time, and Bill Clinton managed to get away with stuff he wouldn’t today. People in their 20s have never heard the truth about him and Hillary’s role in the coverup of bimbo eruptions.
I’m starting to think Trump is a political genius. This marks the umpteenth time that “he’s really stepped in it now!” and that his run for the Presidency is over.
If Hillary’s horndog hubby takes the bait & comes out yelling “You leave my wife alone, you evil capitalist pig!!!”, it’ll be fun to watch. Trump will play Slick Willie like a cheap fiddle.

That's fine -- mentioning Bill's "infidelities". More important is to make clear the facts regarding his rapes and attempted rapes.
Then again, per the Clinton playbook, it's always good to get the dirt out in public a year or so before the election becomes real. Then, once it happens, they say, "That? We talked about it last year. Old news. Next question, please."
