Chain-reaction brawls involving up to 2,000 people erupted in one of Kentucky's largest malls Saturday night, forcing the entire mall and businesses in the surrounding area to shut down, police said.
The hours-long chaos at Mall St. Matthews began about 7 p.m. ET when the six St. Matthews police officers assigned to the mall for the holiday season began responding to "disturbances," said Officer Dennis McDonald, a police spokesman.
"As they were responding to those disturbances, others were breaking out. ... Disturbances started to feed on themselves." McDonald said. "They were just overwhelmed with a number of calls for service and reports of disorder."
The officers on duty at the mall called for backup, and 50 officers from five different agencies responded, according to police.

UK beat U of L that afternoon. Someone had to pay.
Amish?
All part of the Marxist elite’s plan to bring down capitalism
I live in an almost exclusively middle-class white community. By choice.
2000 angry racist homophobic white men, silly.
Ah, so it was only sports thugs.
Nothing to see here folks, move along.
I was at one of the Boston area’s larger malls yesterday afternoon. It was *mobbed*...but no trouble that *I* saw or heard of.
I sure am glad the police showed restraint and there were no arrests. Just think how bad it would have gotten if one or two of the Amish were arrested. //sarc off//
This isn't a new thing, by the way. The first step in this process in retailing was the transition from enclosed shopping malls to a "big box" model where each store is a stand-alone structure surrounded by a sea of parking lots. The advantage of the "big-box" model is that it eliminated the enclosed corridors that had replaced street corners as the preferred locations for useless urban thugs and mutants to spend their time. You'll never hear a news story about 2,000 mutants rioting in a Wal-Mart parking lot -- especially in December.
I came through Louisville last September on a special train. We were stopped at a red signal waiting permission to enter the yard. A group of the feral ute thugs started rocking the cars. We were told to get down on the floor away from windows while the conductor told the dispatcher that we were being attacked and to move us immediately.
It doesn't have to be like this, though.
The problem is that political-correctness is literally killing this country. How come conservative blacks like Tim Scott isn't speaking out against this? Where are the leaders at who aren't afraid to call a spade a spade?
Savages.
They never described what the nature of the disturbances was.
Even here in our mostly rural North Louisiana parish (county) we see our local sheriff’s office and police department paralyzed with fear. This summer, I covered a police jury (county commission) meeting where the chief deputy was complaining that he needed “new ordinances” to combat the problem.
âFlash Mobâ Gathering a Problem in Southwest Lincoln Parish
By Walter Abbott
“A mid-July âflash mobâ gathering of several thousand youths in southwest Lincoln Parish has become an issue because of traffic blockage, noise and fights, Lincoln Parish Sheriffâs Deputy Chad Alexander told the Public Works Committee of the Lincoln Parish Police Jury (LPPJ) last night.
Alexander was there to request action on a ordinance that would prohibit parking on parish road shoulders. Area residents had complained about the problem, Alexander said.
Said Alexander, âEvery year in the month of July, usually around the second weekend in July, what started years ago as a small, simple gathering, maybe a couple hundred folks, down on the area of Butler at Dickâs Store â the location is on Butler Road just west of the big Irby line â thatâs a highline that crosses there â has turned into a gathering of several thousand people. Back in July we estimated the crowd of four to five thousand people, with fifteen hundred to two thousand cars. Cars are parked on shoulders, blocking the road, parked three-deep, four-deep.â
Alexander noted that there was a car stolen as result of the crowd, and that âshots were fired.â It was unclear if the gatherings involved drug or alcohol activity.”
After Alexander spoke, I followed him out of the meeting and confronted him, and asked if the laws now on the books for DWI, drugs, etc, weren’t sufficient for him to act. He made all sorts of excuses about how difficult it was to set up a DWI checkpoint, and so on.
A couple of weeks later, a member of our morning coffee group who is a Ruston PD police lt. and shift supervisor let it slip there was a similar event in town one night. I asked him why no arrests were made.
His reply? “I didn’t want to get any of my men hurt.”
I’m afraid I lost my cool and berated him in front of everyone so badly he quit coming to coffee for a couple of months.
I told him if such an event happened at Louisiana Tech with mostly white kids, they would have called in every cop in North Louisiana and commenced to cracking skulls.
From before Thanksgiving until mid January we just stay away from that whole stretch of Shelbyville Road. Too crowded. Which is frustrating because Trader Joe’s is just a 1/2 mile down the road & my wife gets all her wine there.
The article describes St. Matthews as a suburb of Louisville. It really isn’t a suburb if you know the geography of Louisville, technically maybe because of legal lines. But for all practical purposes it’s part of Louisville.
Any decent video showing the ethnicity of these high spirited yutes?
LOL. The Offspring rocked.
Shut off the EBT cards in the entire zip code area of each of these incidents. Am sure that they will then figure a way to police themselves.
Don’t worry, agenda 21 will fix that for you.
Wow. The new normal in America, huh?
