Cruz as President of the Senate?

Posted on 12/22/2015 6:17:37 PM PST by Jim Robinson

What if Trump wins the presidency with Cruz as VP and they make the VP sideline job of President of the Senate a REAL job? For example, what if they make Cruz the real boss of the senate and bump McConnell down a peg or two?

“Uh, the leaders are picked by the Members.”

Uh, no duh.

Members will pick other leaders under direction of the new President.

Are you slow?

Except Trump isn’t another leftist establishment hack running to assure an easy Democrat win. If he was, they’d be backing him to the hilt. I expect Cruz will be on the ticket with him and we’ll begin to restore order and take this country back. It’s time to close ranks and get behind both of them before its too late.

Trump will need someone to lay down the law with this hive of villainy and scum, not someone to kiss their ass. Cruz is it.

Would you vote for Bush, Christie, Kasich, or Rubio if any of them were to end up being the nominee?

Should Cruz win the nomination and chooses Trump as his running mate...how do we see that shake down? Might that be in the cards and would it be acceptable to most should it happen?

Nope. But those four are in the race to deliver it to Hillary and to preserve RINO/Establishment inter-party control. Trump isn’t. He’s running to win. We haven’t had a candidate like that in 36 years. I almost forgot what one looked like.

It’s been mentioned before but here with a second mention- that would be Sarah Palin if she would agree to do so. She would perform cake walks around RP. Consider him to be less a man than Sarah. That says a lot but by no means demeans Sarah Palin - Of the two she is the stronger in intellect and conservatism.

So, both of us have our limits about voting for progressives. You’re under the impression that some progressive practitioners are more equal than others. I don’t see it that way. I won’t be voting for a progressive this time around. Don’t give me the argument that my refusal to vote for Trump means that I prefer Hillary (see post #63) unless you’re willing to own that same characterization since you refuse to vote for any of the four I mentioned. You can’t have it both ways.

He’s not but apparently you are. Name me one time when the Senate or House has chosen a leader based on the President’s will.

The squeal of the TURTLEHEAD, along with the rest of the "ESTABLISHMENT REPUBLICANS" would be deafening .

But a better question: Can you see TRUMP DIRECTING the Senate ?

Oh, yeah. Wouldn’t you love to see heads explode with Palin at EOA with the assignment to close it down? Fiorina at Education with same mission?

You’re a Cruz supporter. Me too. But if he comes up short, what an AG.

The problem here is that you believe Trump intends on doing nothing that he says, is that your argument ?

See, I don’t vote for left-wingers, either. I voted for Virgil Goode in 2012 despite brow-beating to vote for the lying Socialist ringer Willard. But Willard was a fake candidate who had no intention of winning, and his record of leftism was right there for anyone to see.

It would make no logical sense for Trump to have gone all out to offend members of his class by his stances, getting millions of people on board based on said stances, only to turn around and refuse to do it. He’d not only utterly destroy trust with his base supporters, he’d never be trusted by the left-wing establishment, either. In other words, he would be reviled by everyone. Ultimately, Trump is a businessman and he knows that from a business standpoint, to do the above would be suicidal.
