No, Mr. Obama, staying out of Syria didn’t save lives. It cost them.
Washington Post ^ | December 22, 2015 | Richard Cohen

By his own estimation, Barack Obama may have finally earned his Nobel Peace Prize. Speaking to a small gathering of journalists last week, the president said that by not sending ground forces to the Middle East over the last few years, he had saved 100 lives per month and many billions of dollars. The math is odd, but as long as he's at it, let me cite the casualty that's in plain sight: the straw man he slayed.

The Washington Post dared to disagree with Obama instead of lying to protect him and praising him. The article is typical Washington Post gibberish. But why are they not saying how wonderful Obama is?

He didn’t ‘stay out of Syria’. He went all in for the rebels (we don’t even know how deeply they are connected to the Muslim Brotherhood).

Yep, he was the primary weapons supplier for the Syrian rebels and ISIS.

Obama was the instigator behind Muhbarak’s fall, Quadaffi’s fall, the failure of Iraq, Yemen and Afghanistan and tried to depose Assad. But he’s saved lives?

They should have deposed him in a quick strike or let him crush the dissidents early on.

Instead Obama chose the worst option, and now Assad is still going to be in power with a lot more lives lost than otherwise.

“While there’s nothing particularly sinful about promoting democracy, that’s not why the United States acted in Libya. It did so because Gadd afi had vowed to massacre Libyan insurgents in Benghazi.”

Well, the Lybian insurgents were Al Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood terrorists. So I’m still not seeing a downside there...

This is a hit piece on Cruz, and, running cover for Hillary. The dissing of Obama is just window dressing.

But we did go into Syria. We dropped arms to the moderate 'unicorns' which turned them into ISIS.

I don`t know about any 'peace prizes', but magician`s awards? You bet! Pulled the wool over on many an idiot!

He didn’t stay out of Syria. He sent in CIA and Special Ops people, whose activities would be hard to trace. If he had sent in regular troops, it would have been much easier to see whose side they were actually fighting on.

It saved AMERICAN lives.

We should not lose one drop of American blood in what is an Islamic religious civil war.

I also noticed the dishonest attack on Cruz. Libya was a disaster but the Washington Post pretends it was a great success.

But the Post usually just attacks Cruz and praises Obama. This criticism of Obama is unheard of for them.

Re: “This criticism of Obama is unheard of for them.”

True, but Hillary has to be elected. Every DNC Dem knows criticizing Obama slightly is just a necessity in an election year to get their “man” in office.

If this piece had been written 3 or 4 years ago, then that would definitely have been an “off the plantation” move by Wapo. But running a story like this now, during the One’s last year is just politics as usual - at least that’s how it looks to me.

We should send the US military to help ISIS in Syria, and then help ISIS come in and destroy the US.
