GOP's Mitch McConnell: Promises we kept this year

Sen. Mitch McConnell gives the Republican Party's Weekly Remarks

Hello, I'm Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. I'm proud to represent Kentucky in the United States Senate. I'm also honored to have served this past year as leader of the Senate's new Republican majority.

When you voted for this new majority last November, the Senate was a mess. Some thought the Senate could never be cured of its dysfunction and its gridlock.

But the new majority you elected didn't agree. We believed the Senate could be restored to a place of high purpose again, and we've made great strides over the past year proving that it can. (Scroll down for video of these remarks.)

We passed a balanced budget, for the first time since 2001.

Say what?

“Promises kept”

And pockets lined.

To the people who chided me on this board in voting for this dried up old turd, I publicly apologize; you were absolutely right, and I was wrong.

“Establishment is digging their grave and they seem to be oblivious to the fact it is even happening.”

Oh, they know. That is why they are doing as much damage as they can as quickly as they can.

This is the same childish gloating he did to Ted Cruz after Ted challenged him on the floor of the Senate. He is telling conservatives that they don’t matter and he doesn’t answer to them. I am convinced, anyone who holds his/her nose and votes for the lesser evil in the next election is as much a traitor to freedom and liberty as this turkey-necked POS.

As a Kentuckian, I resent that remark along with a whole lot of other Kentuckians.

Mitch was always going to be bad however not nearly so bad as Allison Lundegran Grimes (his opponent) would have been.

Kentuckians from all across the state just Elected Matt Bevins who Mitch trashed when he ran against Mitch in the Republican Primary.

We Kentuckians are fed up with all of Washington and Pat Cadell had it right when he said what he did the other day.

Change is coming, exactly how and what I do not know, but this much I do know, it is coming.

I live in Cincinnait, so I am aware of what’s going on in KY, especially when it comes to Mitch. I know about Grimes and know that Bevins has some issues (e.g., his claim about college), but I think anyone who can still fog a mirror would be a step up from Mitch. He has sold all of us down the drain. Look at his votes on coal issues, if nothing else. He consistently lies to you people, but you vote to keep him in office. Bevins never had a chance because of the dirt Mitch threw in the primaries and Bevins didn’t have the money to counter. Hmmm...I wonder where the money backing Mitch came from?

Sen. McConnell unsurprisingly does not seem to understand that several of the spending-related issues that he mentioned, educaton and crumbling infrastructure as examples, the states have never delegated the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for.
”Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States.” - Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

Remember in November! Let us start undoing the damage to the country caused by Constitution-ignoring FDR.

Support the new, conservative president with a state sovereignty-respecting Congress that will work within its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers to support the president.
