Real-estate mogul Donald Trump contrasted his own "evangelical" beliefs with US Sen. Ted Cruz's (R-Texas) religious beliefs at a Friday-night campaign rally.
"I am an evangelical. I'm a Christian. I'm a Presbyterian," Trump said, speaking in Des Moines, Iowa.
The Republican presidential front-runner then highlighted the fact that Cruz's father is Cuban.
"We're doing really well with the evangelicals," he continued. "And by the way, and again, I do like Ted Cruz, but not a lot of evangelicals come out of Cuba, in all fairness. It's true. Not a lot come out. But I like him nevertheless."

I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but Ted also mouthed off a bit against Trump too.
And guess what, Trump is running on Reagan’s platform.
Have you see Ted’s immigraton plans from just two years ago.
It’s the McCain/Kennedy and Gang of 8 plans without a path to citizenship. It does contain legalization for all illegal aliens.
There’s also a question of just how long the SCOTUS would stand by and allow these individuals to be forbidden to become citizens. IMO, not very long.

I am making the point that you guys make yourselves look silly by getting all hot n bothered about every little thing Trump says. I do not think DT was saying anything negative about your guy with this remark.
And, just to be clear on the facts - he is right ...
Cuba is mostly Catholic, and no, you do not see many Evangelicals there - meaning, not Ted ,per se, but rather his family. The reason for that, besides the obvious that Catholics settled Cuba, is the unfortunate aspect that many “modernist” Catholics tend towards socialism. This is particularly true since the advent of “liberation theology” - a Marxist construct of the KGB that many Hispanic Catholics, especially in South America, have swallowed hook, line and sinker.
Evangelical Protestants, OTOH, tend to be very much the outspoken opposite - a trait that would make them a persecuted target in a communist country, if not outright an “endangered species.”
That, I believe is the path Trump was taking.
Trump is not fit to be president.
If one world leader is critical of him or insults poor old Trump he would launch nuclear weapons at that country.
I heard a Trump supporter comparing Trump to the being the guy in Deliverance who says "Squeal like a pig". You better cover that orifice.

I am Christian Ptotestant. But this is going to look like an insult to Catholics and Cubans. I am beginning to think Cruz would be better.
I never bothered to watch the movie, so that’s pretty much lost on me.

I support my candidate - I do not “adore” him. So quit with the melodramatic bulls**t. I can find plenty of things to disagree with in both men, if I were so inclined. I just happen to think that Trump is better suited to the job than is Cruz. That’s not hypocritical, its honest.
Have you read what trumpees post? He is surrounded by a glow in the image of an angel and nothing he ever does, says or has ever done or said matters one wit to some of them. They are in your face, I have been called glorious names no matter the swearing code and gloat like they are trump juniors.

I just don’t have your imagination. I’m doomed to only support people who say things and do things that make sense. I just can’t imagine people doing and saying things they’ve never said and done.
