Despite an international uproar and condemnation by President Obama and nearly all of those running for the presidency, Donald Trump's proposed ban on Muslims coming to the United States has the support of a sizable majority of Republicans â and a plurality of all voters.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 66% of Likely Republican Voters favor a temporary ban on all Muslims entering the United States until the federal government improves its ability to screen out potential terrorists from coming here. Just 24% oppose the plan, with 10% undecided.
Among all voters, 46% favor a temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States, while 40% are opposed. Fourteen percent (14%) are undecided.
Trump, the front-runner in the race for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, proposed the ban following last week's massacre in San Bernardino, California. Sixty-five percent (65%) of voters believe the two shooters in the incident were radical Islamic terrorists. Those individuals had entered the United States without problem and escaped detection despite several actions here suggesting that they had violent intentions.
Fifty-nine percent (59%) of voters believe it is too easy for foreigners to legally enter the Untied States. Only 10% believe it is too hard, while 23% say the level of difficulty is about right.

If found out that arsenic had gotten into your water supply, and there was a 1 in 1000 chance every time you drank your water that you would either be severely injured or die from it...would you keep drinking the water?
would you keep bringing that water into your home?
Of course not.
You would put filters on the water that you absolutely knew would keep the arsenic out. You would then check it very regularly to be sure there was no arsenic...and until you did, you would get good water from elsewhere.
The way I see it, Trump is proposing filtering potentially dangerous water coming into our nation. Even if 99,99% of it is good, until you know where the other is...or are sure it is not there at all...you would have to stop the inflow.
And Trump did not really propose a ban on all Muslim immigration. Only a pause to figure out what is going on and how to manage it.
Not unlike Paul Ryan’s vaunted “pause” on accepting Syrian refugees.
Def: - One that wishes a radical muslim will cut your head off.

But I do not blame senator Cruz. His hands are tied by his rich donors. Such as $11 million donation from just one rich donor, Robert Mercer.
Spread it around!
I am a Cruz supporter as well, but I would of liked him to stand with Trump publicly on a firm vetting process. I was disappointed in his PC answer
A simple question for Cruz, and I am not a Cruz hater,
Why isn’t Cruz supporting the law that is on the books re not opening our immigration doors to bad people/
Like with gun control, we don’t need more gun control laws we need to control and monitor evil like the two jihadists who killed 14 and injured as many last week. Then do something to prevent them from mass murder.
Per existing federal law at 8 USC 1182:
Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to appropriate.
Current laws banning admission to the US, and not requiring new laws. Just need someone like Trump to have them enforced:

Rush Limbaugh discusses how Jimmy Carter used this law to expel thousands of Iranians.

Trump’s “Nutty” Proposal Is Already the Law of the Land
Rush Limbaugh.com ^ | December 9, 2015 | Rush Limbaugh
Over here, everybody in the establishment in the political class, Republican, Democrat, media, you name it, is all claiming that what Trump said is dumb, stupid, reckless, dangerous, unconstitutional, while it is the law of the land. And it was utilized by Jimmy Carter, no less, in 1979 to keep Iranians out of the United States, but he actually did more. He made all Iranian students already here check in, and then he deported a ton of them.
There is precedent for everything Donald Trump has said he wants to do. And if you listen to the wizards of smart in this country and our political establishment, you will think that this stuff is just unheard of, it’s almost unspeakable, it’s just indecent. Here we have in the establishment the reputed best and brightest, the smartest. We’re not even qualified to be in their company no less. And they’re dunces on this.
In November the 1979 United States attorney general had given all Iranian students one month to report to the local immigration office. Seven thousand were found in violation of their visas, 15,000 Iranians were forced to leave the United States, 1979. When this law, inadmissible aliens I just read to you, which I’m gonna be reading a lot to you today to the point you’re gonna get tired of hearing it, but you won’t forget it.
Please send this to fellow conservatives, media outlets and to liberals, who need a whack in the head with reality of how their President Truman signed this law and later Carter used it to get rid of a lot of potentially dangerous Iranians.
Jeff I have been posting about this law since the liberals started attacking Trump for wanting to enforce the law on the books. I have added the comments by Rush to my posting.
