BOSSES at a Scots university are under pressure to strip Donald Trump of an honorary degree after he called for Muslims to be banned from America.
Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen said their principal was "considering the position".
Trump, who is leading the race to fight next year's presidential election for the Republicans, wants a "complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States".
He says the ban should stay in place until the authorities can work out which of them are terrorists.
Aides at first said the ban would apply to US citizens who happened to be abroad on holiday and to Muslim troops serving overseas.
Trump later said citizens would be exempt.
RGU gave Trump his degree in 2010 as he built his £750million golf complex near the city. But by last night, more than 4000 people had signed an online petition urging them to take it back.
The petition accuses Trump of "hate speech" and "unrepentant, persistent verbal attacks based on nationality, religion, race and physical abilities".
Trump has previously branded Mexican immigrants rapists and called for Muslims to be made to carry special identity badges. He also mocked the appearance of a disabled reporter who exposed his false claims that thousands of US Muslims celebrated 9/11.
Green politician Maggie Chapman, the rector of Aberdeen University, called Trump's plans "fascistic" and said his campaign was "disgustingly racist".
She added: "He is an utterly unacceptable ambassador for our gloriously global city and its international universities."

Universities get a lot of money from foreign arab students with their tuition paid by their countries.
It would be perfectly fitting for the “academy” to boast about its own hubris and therefore remove any doubt as to its complete uselessness in this day and age, having squandered its centuries of goodwill in the last two generations.

He DID NOT say that muslims should be BANNED from the U.S. That implies making those already here leave. What he said was that we should not let anymore into the county until we understand what they are doing and only when safety allows.
Not that a ban is a particularly bad idea in toto.

If the reaction of the elected leaders’ of Western civilization to Trump’s sensible Muslim ban can’t convince anyone that our leaders are complete fools, then nothing else will.
