Serving police officers today backed Donald Trump's claim that some Muslim communities in the UK are no-go areas because of extremism.
Several Met officers have said the 'Islamification' of some parts of the capital requires 'extra vigilance' and they can't wear uniforms for safety reasons - despite Scotland Yard claiming the tycoon 'couldn't be more wrong'.
Home Secretary Theresa May tonight rejected Mr Trump's claims, insisting: 'The police in London are not afraid to go out and police the streets.'
The US presidential contender caused worldwide consternation yesterday after a string of incendiary remarks about Muslims, including in Britain, and said: 'We have places in London and other places that are so radicalised that police are afraid for their own lives.'
But one serving officer said today Trump had 'pointed out something plainly obvious, something which I think we aren't as a nation willing to own up to'.
Another policeman said that he and other colleagues fear being terror targets and spoke of the 'dire warning' from bosses not to wear a uniform 'even in my own car'.

HE said that "God is number one. There always time for God" and that I could "go to pray" whenever I wanted to.
The kill-joy stinker in all of this was my Catholic Indian co-worker. He was a pain in the butt...and all agreed on that.

I don't doubt his savvy at all. He wouldn't be where he is today without LOTS of savvy. He reads people and events with an expertise that makes him, in my opinion, good POTUS material.
And, if reaches an impasse about anything or anyone, he simply hires people who would know what to do and say in every situation.
He would NEVER, EVER, ever, BOW down to anyone like our pathetic POTUS did.
Screw peoples feelings. The truth and problem must be told before anything can be done to correct it. Otherwise things in the no go areas will fester and leak our on the rest of us in the form of riots and killings.

As a civilian worker I've ridden along with cops in SF. A few decades ago on a first ride through a ghetto they advised me to slouch down in case someone took a pot shot at them from the surrounding low income housing areas. There was a bit of fear in them. A neighbor cop behind my house got murdered in the ghetto by a gunman maybe a decade ago. That ghetto has since improved from the hellhole it used to be. But yes, every city has it's bad area where you watch your back.
Then I guess you've never been to Watts/Los Angeles, Oakland and San Francisco. They have some nassssty areas. Always did; always will.
However, I take your word for it that the ENTIRE cities of Seattle and Portland are without trouble...all just fine for anyone to walk in at any time of the day or night.
My sister lived up there for a year (with new hubby). She told me about the rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain and more rain. We both agreed that the RAIN made the areas so wonderfully GREEN all year round.

Interesting, thanks. I actually was thinking more in the context of no-go places within a country ie France, America etc. and if having their pockets of Sharia was acceptable.
There are no-go areas in London, Paris, and parts of the USA.
