And probably destroy the GOP as a viable party.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

“We all know the duties of a President weights on a person (just look at before and after photos of previous office holders).”

Presidency cult propaganda. Take any person in their late 40s to late 50s. Look at them again in 8 years. I laugh at this they carry the burden silliness. They live a life of luxury that would astonish Louis XIV. The best medical care available anywhere, luxury foods prepared by a chef, no need to ever so much as open a door. He and Marie were roughing it compared to a president.

You might be right or you might be wrong.

We know Bill Clinton used Perot, I will give you that.

But I believe the GOP Establishment and the 95 percent of GOP elected officials who are not conservative need to be destroyed politically and I will accept the outcome if Trump ends up doing the job.

“I am not a conspiracy theorist at all. But if he runs as an independent, no one will ever convince me otherwise that this wasn’t the plan all along to put Hillary in the White House. “

I am kind of with you. Trumps being a former Democrat and having ties to the Clinton’s bothers me.

I sometimes get excited sometimes that we have a great candidate like Trump. Then I sometimes think Trump is up to no good. I sometimes think he is saying all the right things to get Conservatives to line up behind him. Then if he gets the nomination, he runs a bad campaign and throws the election so his old friend Hillary so she can win. Or he would run as a third party to split the vote hand the election to her.

The whole world is so rotten and people are so rotten, I just can’t trust too many people.

Thats why I will stick with Cruz. At least he was never a Democrat or has ties to the Clintons

The chairman of the Republican Party, the Republican House speaker and the top Senate Republican on Tuesday condemned GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump’s call to ban all Muslims from entering the United States.

House Speaker Paul Ryan said at a press conference that Trump’s comments are “not who we are as a party” and violate the Constitution.

“This is not conservatism,” the Wisconsin representative said, adding, “Some of our best and biggest allies in this struggle and fight against radical Islam terror are Muslims.”

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said such a ban would be “completely inconsistent with American values.”

“(And) to show how completely and totally unworkable it would be, King Abdullah of Jordan, a great friend and ally of ours, would presumably not be able to come to the United States,” McConnell said. “How about President Ghani of Afghanistan, a great friend and ally of ours who would not be able to come to the United States. This suggestion is completely and totally inconsistent with American values.”

GOP Chairman Reince Priebus said in an interview Tuesday with the Washington Examiner that he disagrees with Trump’s proposal — the first time the party’s chief has publicly criticized a Trump proposal.

“We need to aggressively take on radical Islamic terrorism but not at the expense of our American values,” Priebus said in the Tuesday interview.

Priebus’s shot at Trump’s proposal comes after months of quiet between the brash billionaire candidate and the GOP since Trump vowed not to run as a third-party candidate and signed a loyalty pledge with Priebus at his side.

Since you are so good at predicting the future, what are the Lotto numbers tonight.

We will win the election in spite of the GOP.

Merry Christmas

I agree. Trump is making it clear to the GOP loudmouths who want to freeze him out of the nomination that they can't win without him.

If they don't nominate him there's no way they can win with him on a third party ticket and in spite of their BS, they know it. They also know that Trump makes deals, so, they'll now face the fact that he's not going away and start trying to make the best deal with him they can.

I was right: you ARE on meds, talking to yourself like that.

Oh good Lord, are they trotting out that worn-out canard again? The bogey may ploy "[Insert Democrat nominee] thanks you for your vote" - if'n you don't vote for the GOPe's lame loser choice. Oooga Booga!

It didn't work in '12; do they seriously think it's going to work again in '16?

At this point, my wife and I would gladly vote for Trump as a 3rd-party candidate.

I really like Cruz, but I don’t see him winning the general against Trump and Clinton.

The entire GOPe has so p!ssed me off recently (even yesterday) that I want to see massive reform before voting for a non-Trump presidential candidate, this time around.

I am not a conspiracy theorist at all. But if he runs as an independent, no one will ever convince me otherwise that this wasn't the plan all along to put Hillary in the White House.

The two of them would be political Machiavellian geniuses.

That makes as much sense as saying Cruz is in this to help Hillary win. If you can't see Trump is in this to win you are blind. The fact he is challenging the GOPee is more proof Trump is 'all in' to win ... President Donald Trump.

>>unless that person has won 8 states, IT WILL NOT MATTER. And no convention floor fight is going to change that factoid.

Hi,
As has been pointed out by another poster on an earlier thread, the RNC is a private organization accountable to no one, makes their own “rules”, changes them at will, has the ability to nullify whatever results it chooses, de-certify state delegates and/or whole state voting results, etc. It does as it pleases. Prior to reading this poster’s comment, I was unaware of this and had never given any of it any thought. But if this is true, coupled with the realization that they truly don’t mind losing to the Dems if it means hanging on to their current power elite infrastructure, then they have really had things sewn up for decades. How could anyone possibly win under those circumstances? I really don’t know.

Re your post #106:

Disgusting.

“Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.”

Stand and fight, for God’s sake!

Sorry, Donny, but that wouldn't be near enough to win you the election. All it would do is to hand the election to Mrs. Clinton.

Well, questions about Obama’s U.S. citizenship, which continue to this day, certainly never hampered his “eligibility” with the American voters. It would be viewed as the height of hypocrisy for the media or anyone on the left to go after Cruz over this, especially since Cruz could (and would) easily furnish proof of his American citizenship.

Also, I respectfully disagree with your premise that Cruz has no prayer of winning a general election. Many once thought the same of Ronald Reagan and dismissed him as “just an actor” and “too conservative”. What glaring weaknesses do you think Cruz has??
****************************************
To the American people, comparing/contrasting Cruz to Obama would be a real no-win situation. Hypocrisy has never bothered the Democrats or the Clintons.

You have a first term Senator who has only one American parent running to replace a President who was a first term Senator with one American parent. No matter how opposed their philosophy, to the voter they sound like more of the same.

Reagan was able to reach across the spectrum, he was charismatic and had name recognition. Cruz has none of this.
