I live in Michigan, but I am a Muslim from Syria. There, I committed a "crime" that was punishable by death - and not just any death, but a slow death after torture and starvation. My offense was helping wounded civilians deprived of their right to medical treatment because of their political views.
I looked at my children and thought that I didn't want them to suffer because of me. So after a very long process, in 2012, we moved to the place I thought would provide them safety and freedom: the United States of America .

When ISIS began to spread its terror across the world, I knew that there would be some backlash. I never, however, imagined the scale of it, especially in America.

Trump's words can be heard all over the world. He is the Republican front-runner for President - a prominent figure who many people believe speaks for the U.S.
He speaks, crowds cheer. This leads many in the Muslim world to conclude that his statements represent the majority opinion of Americans.
And that feeds into the main narrative of ISIS: That in the West, Muslims have no safe place to practice their religion freely or real sense of belonging, so they should emigrate to the land of the caliphate.
One Muslim friend here in the U.S. told me, "I packed a small bag and I'm waiting for the knock on my door so they will take us to a concentration camp."

I heard that the US stopped all immigration from 1924 to 1965 to allow the immigrants in country to assimilate. Is this true? ...anyone
Go back where you came from.
This Muslim punk from Syria should be fighting to kill ISIS in his own country Syria. The bastards run here for the progressives handouts and free everything.
The author is a moslem. According to immigration law they should never have been allowed here.
If they have a problem with our Constitution, and all moslems do, then they need to leave.
If they have a problem with how islam operates, then they need to leave islam. (Of course we still couldn’t allow them to be here because moslems lie)
Yeah, lowbridge! Go back where you came from!
;)
Allowing these people to hide and not fight abets ISIS more than anything.
We have able bodied men being admitted to this country when they should be fighting ISIS.
In 1924 The Immigration Act was capped/limited to 2% of the 1890 census. Read the Act. I think Harding or Coolidge was around then.
Funny how one of them “good Muslims” is so interested in protecting the feelings of the “not-so-good-Muslims”...
He’s surprised that Americans are not crazy about the violence and oppression of Islam. His state of mind can only be produced by the suppression of political correctness and the lying uniparty. Blaming Americans for Isis is cute and original. Going with the uniparty’s Nazi concentration camp meme is a winning line as well.
That is true and a great source of discontent and aggression. The West should keep muslims out for their own good and everyone else's.
It doesn’t matter whether WE believe him. He’s here, he has his cRAT Voter ID and his EBT card, etc. Now all that’s required of him is to get himself before a camera periodically and spin a yarn, and badmouth anyone, like Trump, who wants to protect America.
Trump said THEY ALL MUST GO BACK, and re-apply. Well, there goes his welfare gravy train ride. No wonder he’d hunt up a microphone and spin a yarn.
My test for ME immigrants would be that they scarf down a pork barbecue sandwich and sing God Bless America.
P.S. If they only want more of what they have over there; then they STAY over there.
Please do. We don*t enjoy being beheaded. It's an American thing, I guess.

I’m very OK with Muslims emigrating to the land of the caliphate, especially if they would ever want to live in a place like that. Let’s feed that narrative.
Please note that no one is trying to subvert your 1st amendment right to speak your mind however, you and your supporters will try everything to limit my same right.
If there are a series of larger mass casualty attacks in this country by your fellow travelers, that knock on the door will not be to “take” you anywhere; rather it would be to “send” you somewhere...like to al-ah.
Just saying....
I'll have a Shadi Martini....shaken not stirred.
:-)
Try telling this garbage to all the families in San Bernardino.
Crickets.
