Authorities are responding to a report of 20 victims in a shooting in San Bernardino on Wednesday.

The incident was reported in the 1300 block of S. Waterman Avenue (map), according to the San Bernardino Fire Department.

They're illegal in California, I believe, somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

They're legal. Just severely restricted based on "evil" features. AR's manufactured for the CA market have installed what's known as a "bullet button" which means the standard magazine release button is encased in a metal shroud and requires a tool (like a bullet) to be inserted to release the magazine.

Some rifles have a fixed and welded mag in place meaning they can only be loaded with a top-loading stripper clip. 10 rounds max for both variants.
