Former National Security Adviser Sandy Berger, who served under President Bill Clinton, has died at the age of 70 from cancer. "V sad start to day; just learned Sandy Berger passed away during the night," Richard Haass, the president of the Council on Foreign Relations, tweeted Wednesday morning. "Good man & friend who served nation well as bill clinton's NSA."

I have always loved Free Republic.
However, it really wouldn’t take much to put some validation on the Free Republic submit page.
A little ajax and a quick check could be made that the site isn’t from a banned site and another check to see if the article has been posted using the actual article link. Grief, that second check should be done anyway along with, sorry, that article has already been posted.
FR was cutting edge 15 years ago, but now we have a lot of new tools that could modernize it without loosing the FR look and feel.
I tried with a bookmarklet a couple of years ago that would make it easy to post from any webpage. It worked fine until the FR filter started thinking all the requests to the search page were suspicious and would block it. lol
Anyway, I still enjoy FR, but my visits really are down a lot from the days where I would spend hours to now maybe spending an hour a month.

Accordingly, I refute any and all calls to provide so-called “XPian Compassion” upon the memory of Berger. He was cad, a cur and a traitor to his nation.
The USA is better with his death...may he be tormented in Hell.
Would that I could say how I ^really^ feel!
Stealing documents from the National Archives for the Clintons. In his bleeping socks and trousers.
I can’t even choke out an RIP for this criminal.
I just hear Bill’s scratchy drawl, “Oh that Sandy, so funny, always a slob, with documents stuffed up his sleeves and socks, ha ha ha ha ha, you never know whut you gon’ find in his pants!”
Thank You :)
LOL. I am so sorry but think about it like this, you will fit into your action slacks again :)
He served his purpose (burglarizing the National Archives) and was expendable.
Seems too convenient to me. We had an unsolved mystery than just died.
Wouldn’t you just love to be the next person handling documents after Berger was done with them. /s
Is this real explanation? Yikes.
At least it’s official. LOL
LOL. Maybe someone should pick up the body and bang it on a counter...
13 hours ago is “old news”? You really live in the fast lane. And I thought the news in the morning paper was stale.
That’s old news and his name on FreeRepublc was, Sandy Burglar.

3. Sandy Berger, former national security adviser, dies
Start with the broadest search possible. In this case, because of the uncommon spelling of his last name, simple search title for "Berger." If you get too many results, tighten the search with more words.
As dfwgator says, you can use Google Advanced Search to search FR and narrow things down to a specific date range, too. I find that very helpful.
“Did he die with his boots socks on? “
Yes, and his mouth was full too.
Sandy Berger was a democrat hero - he stuffed papers down his pants to protect Clinton lies - and the suck-up liberal elites in the press loved it because it gave the finger to conservatives. Gave the finger to the little people in flyover.
May the littel sh*t rot in hell.
Here's my best imitation of a spastic reporter at the New York Times - and my joke of a plaintive plea that I would never make fun of someone like that reporter.
See how it feels liberal elites?
You win!
