“We don’t know ... what those motives were, but whatever they were, it’s unacceptable, and it’s horrific and wrong,” the Republican presidential hopeful told reporters here before a town hall.
Cruz is among the first — if not the first — GOP candidate to denounce the shooting, which happened Friday in Colorado Springs and left a police officer and two civilians dead. A suspect, Robert Dear, has been taken into custody.
"I have spent much of my adult life working in law enforcement, working against murderers and those who commit violent crime, and that one officer lost his life is particularly tragic," Cruz said.
Cruz appeared to be the first GOP candidate to directly address the shooting Saturday morning, when he tweeted that he was "Praying for the loved ones of those killed, those injured & first responders who bravely got the situation under control in Colorado Springs."
Cruz has been perhaps the harshest critic of Planned Parenthood in the GOP field, especially after the release of undercover videos showing officials with the group discussing business practices. Cruz has referred to the organization as an "ongoing criminal enterprise," and he regularly promises to initiate a federal investigation into the group as one of his first acts in office if elected president.
Disclosure: Planned Parenthood was a corporate sponsor of The Texas Tribune in 2011. A complete list of Tribune donors and sponsors can be viewed here.
What?
Somebody told you about factsomething today?
What?
Somebody told you about facts orsomething today?
I heard today it was related to Planned Parenthood (not the bank). Police reported something he said about the place but I didn’t catch what he said.
He condemned the killing as he should have.
The 911 call mentioned Planned Parenthood, not the Chase Bank branch. That’s not how it would have unfolded, had he attacked the bank first.
The graphic is only about who would make the best commander in chief.
Kind sir, your conspiracy theories are so off base to be laughable. This is a GOP enclave, home to NORAD, two AF bases, one Army post, the AF Academy, Focus on the Family, etc. The government officials in this county reflect the political leanings of its population. Our mayor, John Either, is a strong Republican, former DA, former State Attorney General. The current District Attorney, Dan May, is a career prosecutor with strong law and order credentials. I voted for both of them and will do so every time their names are on the ballot. They are circumspect and are careful not to risk the prosecution of this Ted Kacszinski wannabe. The idea that this investigation is being turned into a PP terror shooting for liberal political purposes is crazy whackado nonsense. And for those who claim this was a botched robbery, show me one statement from LEOs or one mention in the 911 transcripts that references this theory. It’s not there. An up thread mention is hardly evidence of anything. Let these folks do their jobs, the truth will out.
Mayor John Either = Mayor John Suther
So why is it taking so damned long to get the bare facts about the shootings? There were 100s of city, state and federal law enforcement people at the site; pouring over every minute detail. Yet, yesterday at 5 PM you couldn’t even get the number of wounded or dead. They are holding back information and I want to know why!
In the meantime, the assumption is being made that Mr. Dear made a planned hit on Planned Parenthood when there are suggestions that he used Planned Parenthood as a refuge. And as long as the Republicans in Colorado drag their feet giving the information, the “conspiracy theories” will be well deserved.
Reading about the current perp, Dr. Kaczynski does indeed come to mind.

My bet is that they haven’t spent one second thinking about how inconvenienced jonrick has been. Check out this article in the Gazette, it provides a lot of good information:

Not one mention of a bank robbery, not one mention of anything other than a nutjob entering the PP building and opening fire. My guess is that the lack of PP staff injuries is due to the fact that the shooter was engaged by police unexpectedly and early and his attention was then focused on killing cops.
CBS News/YouGov. Goopy source work.
What part of all murders should be condemned irrespective of who was murdered do you have a problem understanding?
And when you have the facts, you do so.
What facts are those then?
The fact that 3 people have been murdered in cold blood?
Not sure why you felt you needed to say that. Do you know of anyone in these parts who thinks differently about that?
Oh please pardon me. I was under the distinct impression that you have a serious problem with Ted Cruz condemning these murders.
Okay, so for the second time in this post alone, you can't grasp what it means to be particularly interested in these deaths
Again, pardon my English, but exactly what other meaning is there to your “particularly interested in these deaths”. That is not exactly Shakespeare is it?(And I read Shakespeare).
You Trumpbot fanatics make my head spin. You know....You don't have to appear on every single Cruz thread and spew out garbage and nit pick over nothing. There is plenty of fun things in life to enjoy out there.
Now being duly tossed |
According to The Guardian:
Dear lived in a trailer parked 50 yards off the highway, on land which he bought for $6000 in 2014. He shared the trailer with a woman who may have been his wife though she rarely left the property, according to Zigmond Post Jr, who lives about a quarter of a mile away.Post told Reuters that he first met Dear when a pair of dogs escaped from his property and Dear locked them in his yard. Dear was friendly when Post arrived to retrieve the dogs but took the opportunity to complain about Barack Obama.
“We got the dogs back and everything and as we were getting ready to leave he handed us some anti-Obama pamphlets and told us to look over them,” Post said.
As usual, Cruz answered the question put to him exactly correctly.
What did the gregarious eyewitnesses hear?
Gee, ya think?
Cruz said what he thought, pointed out that the motive is unknown, and condemned the killings, as he should have.
I suspect we'll hear a lot more bombast and feigned outrage at at other candidates from all the Trump supporters as he continues to sabotage his own campaign.
My son said right away on AR15.com they were saying it was a bank robbery gone south and maybe lefty gender weirdo
Is that right
I’ve been at the beach
More ignorant than usual
Tks
Unlike most here I don’t much care if abortionists get clipped
Sorry....this pickle we are in is too far gone to completely refuse violence to settle political conflict
Sure won’t stop the left.....they’d use guns in a heartbeat....some already are
All this black lives matter/occupy/ACORN junk could go hot nationwide if the right button is pushed
Imagine the anti white tsunami of violence if our president met foul play
It would be like are Reginald Denny X 10,000
I’ve lived in conflict areas and we are very close to that.......given that I just don’t much care nor consider baby killers as innocent lives
The coverage by CNN has various videos that have eyewitnesses accounts. The first accounts describe shootings “near Planned Parenthood.” Here is the link:
http://www.cnn.com/2015/11/28/us/colorado-planned-parenthood-shooting/
One video has a woman who fled inside Planned Parenthood from the shooter out in the parking lot. She ran into a room and barricaded the door because it did not have a lock. She described a bullet that went through the walls, leaving holes. She described how the shooting sounds went from outside the building to inside.
Another description tells about shots at the Chase Bank and how they saw a officer shot and on the ground outside the bank.
There is a wealth of information at that web site.
