Colorado Springs, the location of an attack on a Planned Parenthood clinic that left three people dead, is a centre of rightwing Christian culture with a “wild west mentality†when it comes to guns.
The attack, by a lone gunman carrying a rifle or shotgun, took place at a clinic that is the site of regular anti-abortion protests by the city’s pro-life Christian groups.
Planned Parenthood, aware of hostility about their work, recently moved to the new facility, hoping it would provide more security for staff.
The building has been likened to a fortress by anti-abortion campaigners and Friday’s attacks revealed that it is equipped with “safe rooms†for staff to shelter in the event of such an event. It also has an extensive security camera system.
With anti-abortion policies supported by many Republican presidential candidates such as Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and Jeb Bush, rhetoric attacking Planned Parenthood and other such organisations is not hard to find in the city.
Last spring, following the gruesome attack on a Colorado woman who had her unborn-baby ripped from her womb with a knife, state representative and Springs resident Gordon Klingenschmitt said the attack was “the curse of God upon America for our sin of not protecting innocent children in the wombâ€.
Colorado’s second largest city, with a population of 445,800, has built itself a reputation as a playground for white, pro-gun, pro-life Evangelical Christians. It is also home to one army base, two air force bases, and an air force.

I have heard that the shooting started in the parking lot, not inside PP. There was also speculation that this was a robbery gone bad or a domestic dispute between the gunman and an ex-wife or girlfriend.
The lib media is promoting a meme before the facts are known and the terminally stupid news consumers are disseminating it. He, you newsies, how about offering condolences to the loved ones of those who died instead of pushing a story that may not be true.

I know one cop was killed but who were the other two victims? I have heard no one employed by PP was killed. So who was killed and where were they?

I think this came from one of the witnesses:
Brigitte Wolfe, a manager at the Jun Japanese Restaurant in a strip mall across the street from the Planned Parenthood, said six policemen had taken positions in her restaurant and ordered her staff and three customers to stay inside as the scene unfolded across the street.
"We have a bank across the street, so we thought it was a bank robbery, and then all of a sudden we saw SWAT and ATF pull up," she said. "Then we actually had a police officer come to the window tell us to lock the doors and stay away."

If it had started out as a bank robbery, there would have been witnesses from inside the bank.
The media always promotes that meme before the actual identity is known. When they shriek it loud and long and then the perp is discovered to be Moslem or gangbanger or garden variety lunatic they say that quietly and late and trust that the planted assumptions will be the lasting impressions.
As of 9:00 am EST, Fox is still speculating on the motive with no mention of a botched bank robbery.

If that were true, then the victims would have had guns and they wouldn’t be victims.
Because there has been no ID of a live captured perp, I suspect he will turn out to be a Moslem or Leftist crazy. Maybe not but when these things have been delayed in the past that is usually the reason. They all want to get the assumption promoted by MSM and leftist pols that it is a Christian Anti-abortion Right Wing Fanatic out there to boil for a while before they allow the truth out.
When I’ve been to those protests, we just stand on the sidewalk (public) and pray. Last time I was there a man who has a huge anti-Catholic chip on his shoulder was yelling at people as they went in but he was also yelling at what he called the “rosary rattlers.” I could see him going off the rails.
