...Michael Bloomberg...trashed two top-tier Republican presidential candidates in a CNN interview airing Friday.
After dismissing "right-wing crazies" who reject mainstream climate science, Bloomberg was asked by CNN's Christiane Amanpour what he made of the GOP field.
...
"There's one of them who was a surgeon, unfortunately at Johns Hopkins, who doesn't believe in science," Bloomberg said. "Somebody said that's like a business executive that doesn't believe in profits."
Bloomberg then said that Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas had said some of the "stupidest" things about climate change despite his intellect. He noted that Cruz's intelligence had been praised by Alan Dershowitz, a prominent US attorney who was once Cruz's Harvard professor.
"You've got a guy like Ted Cruz - who I think Dershowitz said was the smartest law student he ever had - and he says some of the stupidest things I've ever heard," Bloomberg said. "The only explanation - the only explanation - is he doesn't believe it; he's just saying it."
He added: "Ted Cruz is a smart guy, and you can't say what he says in an intelligent way."
Cruz, who has surged in recent primary polls, has not shied away from criticizing mainstream climate science.
"If you look at satellite data for the last 18 years, there's been zero recorded warming," Cruz said in August, according to Time magazine. "The satellite says it ain't happening ... I'm saying that data and facts don't support it."
Reached for comment on Bloomberg's criticism, Cruz campaign spokesman Rick Tyler dismissed the former mayor as a "myopic" elitist.
"The myopic Mr. Bloomberg should look past his armed guards and beyond his cloistered circumstances and take in a big gulp of reality," Tyler told Business Insider. "Most of what Ted Cruz says is simple common sense. Most of what Mr. Bloomberg says defies logic."

>>”If you look at satellite data for the last 18 years, there’s been zero recorded warming,” Cruz said in August, according to Time magazine. “The satellite says it ain’t happening ... I’m saying that data and facts don’t support it.”
And the recent NOAA data scandal proves him 100% right.
Bloomberg, clearly.
Is Cruz a millionaire?
Donald Trump is not a millionaire, he’s a billionaire!
Wow, huh?
;-)
Michael Bloomberg says some of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard.
Bloomberg has Dorkbama the Muslim IQ.
‘Nuff said.
and by ‘stupid’ he of course means ‘truthful’ - truth to liberals is stupidity
Pure projection on the part of Bloomberg.
Judge a man by the enemies he makes.
Wouldn’t you just love to spot this guy slurping a supersized soda....I would bump into him and spill it all over him in a NY minute.
Yeah, Cruz would probably allow 20 oz soft drinks.
LOL
How can someone so stupid become a billionaire?
Millionaire blowhard egomaniac canât stay out of the news for a single day, so he runs his mouth to generate headlines.
He never really has anything worthwhile to contribute.
It’s not just Bloomberg you are describing, look at Obama too. I won’t know how to act not seeing his puss each and every day.
Not much we can do about the sun.
Jus sayn.
That argument in RINO quarters against Cruz should be expected. This is why conservatives in certain states should be focusing on Senate candidates who do believe in controlling the purse and getting the government out of our bedrooms, kitchens, backyards, churches, and schools.
\
Even if it meant resorting to defunding and government shutdowns.
And by campaigning using those issues and asking why the go along, get alongs bipartisans refused to use these tactics which should have been applied with this bunch of socialistas bent on destroying this country.
Joe Walsh for US Senator
“You’ve got a guy like Ted Cruz - who I think Dershowitz said was the smartest law student he ever had - and he says some of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard,” Bloomberg said. “The only explanation - the only explanation - is he doesn’t believe it; he’s just saying it.””
No, there is a second explanation you twit. That in fact, what Cruz is saying is true and you only think it’s crazy because you’re a moron.
Michael Bloomberg has something of a blind spot in his perception of the world, part of which has to do with a vastly overblown and exaggerated version of his own intellectual attainment.
Now there is this to be said, Bloomberg has parlayed a relatively modest fortune into a multi-billion empire, but he has chosen to apply the fruits of that fortune to promoting several incompletely-thought-out opinions, in relation to both climate change and in the proper application of the Second Amendment.
As a rejoinder to “If you’re so smart, why aincha rich?”, one could say, “If you’re so rich, why aincha SMART?”
“Rich” and “smart” are not necessarily mutual exclusives, but they are not correlated, either.
That is a brilliant retort on so many levels....
Cruz is correct and Bloomberg is not a smart guy.
