The Obama's Thanksgiving celebrations had to be cut short after a man draped in the American flag jumped the fence of the White House.
President Obama and his family were tucking into their turkey dinner when they were put on lockdown so the Secret Service could conduct a sweep of the grounds following the security breach.
CNN reports that Joseph Caputo - who was wearing a baseball shirt, gloves and the flag as a cape when he hopped the fence - was immediately taken into custody.

They should have implemented the cheap version that is widely used throughout the world to protect property. It's easy to find the intruder that attempted to scale the fence.

No. If British terms bothered me I would not read articles on British sites. It's the Brits who have the inferiority complex that makes them howl bloody murder every time an Americanism appears in one of "their" publications. For my part, I couldn't care less. I expect to see British usage in a British publication, and I'm not scandalized that there are differences between the two vernaculars. And I'm not so dense that I can't deal with both.

A little off subject, but does the Brit term âtucking intoâ, as in âtucking into their turkey dinnerâ get under anyone elses skin? Weird you ask. Yeah, it's always annoyed me and I don't know why.
