Shoot down a Russian plane, Putin says, âIâm done with you!â
Actually I believe it was done with a spoofed beacon, ala Ron Brown.
Beat’s the hell out of WWIII.
What evidence have you that “Putin . . . had apparently been warned . . ..?
Russia is supposed to be an ally of Turkey in the “war on terror.” At most, the plane was in Turkey airspace for less than a minute, if it was at all, and was shot down on Syrian territory.
Turkey has not only been violating Syrian airspace, it admits it has been BOMBING Kurds in Syria.
http://aranews.net/2015/10/turkey-admits-we-have-bombed-kurdish-positions-in-syria/
And Turkey has repeatedly violated Greek airspace, as has already been posted on FR.
Why the love for the terrorist supporting Erdogan regime?
I would like to see Asia Minor revert back to Christian control
Some are surely the paid trolls referred to below. Others non-paid, or just really ignorant on Russia's plans to further take on NATO by expanding into the Middle East. This in addition to their attempted retaking of their former Soviet states in Eastern Europe. Also their collaborating more closely than ever with the ChiComs, holding joint annual war games with them since 2005, in clear preparation for war with us and our NATO and other allies. The Russians themselves are probably behind much of the terrorism, which they use to destabilize regions they want to move into and ultimately take over.

Kremlin pays internet trolls to flatter Putin
Ben Hoyle - Moscow
October 11 2013
Russian investigative journalists and bloggers have uncovered an army of internet trolls paid to pour invective on the Kremlin's opponents and heap praise on President Putin.
Posing as job applicants, the reporters discovered the government hacks working at a small company called the St Petersburg Internet Research Agency. ..."

I think it’s generally agreed that the Polish plane crashed because it attempted a landing in poor visibility, and the pilots were apparently unaware that the approach was over a valley several feet below the runway level, so that when they made visual contact in the final seconds, they had no time to pull up when they realized they were flying into a rising slope. Now that could be staged in some way by the host country, but it would take some prodigious good luck in having that particular weather and keeping accurate map data from the Polish pilot.
I think it was more likely a human error situation than a deliberate act, but I cannot be sure.
It's good to be a greenbacker, at least until it implodes. It will be a great show.
That's a fact.
There are many people here who are channeling the McCainiac, Obama, and Jeb and who will simply believe the tripe our Neocons serve up as “fact”. Putin isn’t without faults, but on the whole he is doing more good in the world than Obamalini. These same people think that Russia destabilized and carried out a coup in the Ukraine, even though we have telephone intercepts that place the impetus for the deposing of the elected government squarely on the shoulders of Obama’s administration.
Yea Turkey has it with ISIS from the black market and is the worst secret in the world
agreed
I think it depends on whose map you're looking at. If it's a Turkish map, it's Turkish airspace. If it's a Syrian map, then it's Syrian airspace. That area has been contested by both sides for years and years. Just saying....
I would like to see NORTH AMERICA (Kanada, USSA, May-hee-co) revert back to Christian control! Europe, too!
Now you’re talking! Do they have insurance plans for fighter jets? Just asking. I really think I should insure my F-15. Paid good money for it....
More nonsense.

Cause of accident according to Polish report:
http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/11/10/poland-russia-smolensk-idUSL8N1354OR20151110
The Polish government report exonerated the Russians; what else do you need to know? Polish investigators went over the crash scene with a fine tooth comb and found no evidence of an explosion. Furthermore, there was a Russian flight data recorder and a Polish one on the plane and both were recovered. The Polish recorder’s data could only be read by the Poles and its data matched up perfectly with that of the Russian recorder. See the “Mayday” episode referenced.
Whether the wreckage is returned or not years later is irrelevant. It’s not even alleged in the article that the return of the wreckage has any bearing on the cause of the accident. All the necessary forensic evidence was extracted at the scene to which Polish investigators had full access.
Whether the wreckage is returned or not years later is irrelevant
Given the lawsuit, it’s clearly not irrelevant to the Poles and their President was killed in the incident. I understand it is irrelevant to marvel5 because that is the current position of one party state fascist Russia. I’ll stand with the Poles on this one. You can have the KGB bred filth. You’re as transparent as the kenyan, FRiend.
The cause of the accident has been OFFICIALLY DETERMINED by the POLISH GOVERNMENT ITSELF! The wreckage was examined at the crash for any trace of explosives and none was found.
The remaining debris, five years later, can’t tell us any more than what was revealed at the crash site immediately after the incident.

The Smolensk air disaster that claimed the lives of the former president, his wife and 94 others, was caused by a mysterious explosion on board that ripped the aircraft apart according to a Polish MP.
The claim was made in a report that was published as Poland commemorated the fourth anniversary of the plane crash that claimed the lives of President Lech Kaczynski and dozens from the country's political, military and civil elite,
An official air-crash investigation concluded the disaster was an accident caused by a number of factors such as pilot error and thick fog enveloping Smolensk airport as the Tupolev Tu-154 government plane tried to land at Smolensk airport in western Russia on the morning of April 10, 2010.
But in a 200-page report entitled 'Four Year after Smolensk: How the President Died,' Antoni Macierewicz, an MP from Law and Justice, a party founded by Lech Kaczynski and his twin brother Jaroslaw, claimed the plane was brought down by an explosion.
Mr Macierewicz and Mr Kaczynski have long maintained the president was assassinated, possibly by the Russians, and the present Polish government was involved in a cover-up.
"Never in the history of the world has a government and prosecutors strived so hard to block access to the truth," Mr Macierewicz told reporters as he began the report's presentation.
Donald Tusk, the Polish prime minister who also lost colleagues at Smolensk, has always rebuffed any accusations that his government was somehow involved in the disaster.
Citing expert witnesses Mr Macierewicz said fragments of the wreckage showed signs of an explosion that occurred shortly before the plane hit the ground. In a presentation on his report the MP released photographs appearing to show sections of the aircraft bent outwards, as if they had been subjected to a blast.
He also said the scattering of the debris was consistent with a mid-air explosion rather than impact with the ground.
The report may add some momentum to the belief many Poles have that the Smolensk disaster was no accident, but is unlikely to sway the view of the majority, who dismiss conspiracy theories.
