Actor James Woods pulled his endorsement of presidential candidate Carly Fiorina Monday night, tweeting that he has been won over by Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, during a 40-minute conversation.
.@SenTedCruz and I just spoke for 40 minutes by phone about our love of this country. This man is the real deal. I'm all in! #TedCruz #tcot |
.@SenTedCruz has finally won me over because of his steadfast devotion to conservative principles regardless of polls or opinions. #TedCruz- James Woods (@RealJamesWoods) November 23, 2015 |
Woods, known for his 40-year movie and television career, said he was moved by Cruz's devotion to conservative values regardless of how popular his principles were with the public. Cruz, he said, was "the real deal."
Cruz retweeted Woods' statement and thanked him for his support.
Great speaking with you and truly honored to have your support! |
lol - I know that one
James Woods...You da MIT grad!

I like this part:
“...regardless of polls or opinions...”

No worries there. He hasn’t bee “in” Hollywood for a long time. I wouldn’t go so far to say “has been” but it is getting close. Someone mentioned Stacy Dash also endorsed him. I just wish we had some actors or actresses that were “A” Listers instead of “D” actors. We are ripped off by the actors and actresses who support us.
Cool.
Carly ran in her home state and lost.
Not a promising track record.
When Ted picks up the voters from the bottom batch, he will easily pass Trump’s steady 25-28%. There is 75% still up for grabs.
You nailed this one, Mr. Woods. Time to put the country into Cruz Control.
The people who say Cruz is too “far-right” to win the election should take note. Woods is not a social-issues hawk by any stretch of the imagination. Everyone knows Cruz is as right-wing on social issues as anybody else (showing up for Kim Davis’ in prison to name one example). But he’s so good on other issues that he can still appeal to someone who doesn’t care about social issues...
.@stopdarock I can honestly say I have not lost any [friends in Hollywood] that I know of. I’m fiscally conservative, but basically just ignore social issues.
Cruz has the potential to be a perfect consensus candidate. I wish I could remember the name of the guy who was on O’Reilly about a year ago who surprised O’Reilly by saying Cruz might have the best shot at being the nominee by being the only guy who could appeal to ALL wings of the party.
I think that’s because Cruz is just so darn good on all the major planks, that if you don’t care about one plank or even disagree with it, Cruz is so good on the planks you do care about that you can overlook it.
ya I am trying to do that. But I can't get over Corker/ Cardin. I really need to know why any individual senator, not just Ted, would alter the intent of the constitution regarding treaty making. Why vote to make treaty ratification with only a minority instead of the intended super majority? I don't get it and reconcile his vote.
Can’t reconcile
.....”Cruz is just so darn good on all the major planks, that if you donât care about one plank or even disagree with it, Cruz is so good on the planks you do care about that you can overlook it.”........
I’ve found that if you do disagree then you need to look deeper and find out “why” and “what” his reasons were or or why he takes those positions. I did that a couple times......on some things he was doing in Congress.....THEN I understood.

Corker Bill:
Ted Cruz's Record of defending U.S. Sovereignty:
Please watch this video. Ted Cruz described the situation around the votes for TPA and Corker's bills.
THIS will swing it for Cruz! It’s all over for Trump! /s/
Thanks. I watched the video. What I head regarding Corker was that Mr. Cruz offered an amendment but Majority leader filled the tree. When it comes down to it, the end result was Ted voting for Corker/Cardin. Nobody made him do that did they? What I didn’t hear in the video was why he did so. Please correct me if I have it wrong. In the meantime, I will listen to it again to make sure I didn’t miss anything.
Ultimately, I voted yes on final passage because it may delay, slightly, President Obamaâs ability to lift the Iran sanctions and it ensures we will have a Congressional debate on the merits of the Iran deal.
I am sorry I am not trying to be obtuse but how does voting for passage of a bill that gives the authority to lift sanctions by a minority of Senators delay Obama? What am I missing? Is it something convoluted?
