So NPR, the New York Times and the Associated Press searched contemporaneous news accounts and could find no evidence of Muslim-Americans cheering in Jersey City. Thatâs odd. Because it took me less than two minutes to find this story from the Washington Post dated September 18, 2001 (although I did have to spend $3.95 to buy it from the Postâs archives):
In Jersey City, within hours of two jetlinersâ plowing into the World Trade Center, law enforcement authorities detained and questioned a number of people who were allegedly seen celebrating the attacks and holding tailgate-style parties on rooftops while they watched the devastation on the other side of the river.

I will state this again for those who have trouble reading.
I’m not saying people did not celebrate. I absolutely think some did. Thousands upon thousands? Nope.
You can’t get thousands upon thousands of people in one town in Jersey to cheer for the Mets winning a game.
Yeah, kinda like all the coverage that is given to the March for Life every year. /s
Oh, so now it’s the number?
Seesh, you aren’t worth bothering with.
No. If you read my very FIRST post on this subject, I specifically stated exactly what i stated... Yet again, for those like yourself that have some trouble reading.
I will paste exactly what I originally posted, “Iâm not doubting some people cheered. Cause there are sick people everywhere. Not thousands upon thousands though. That would have been all over the news.”.
It was always the number. From my very first post.
Reading is hard.....
The “press” never speaks the truth. It is ALWAYS tainted with their extreme left-wing ideology.
I don’t think he said New Jersey. He said just Jersey. Don’t the area well at all but is there a place just called Jersey?
Jersey City is right across the river from Manhattan. People were running to Jersey City from Manhattan.
There are hundreds of hundreds of racialized Muslims in Jersey City.
It is no exaggeration.
Yes, there is - in England. But also the state of New Jersey is normally referred to as “Jersey” by “New Yawkers.”
Hundreds and hundreds? Yes. I will agree with you there.
Thousand upon thousand all cheering when the buildings came down? No.
And I know Jersey City quite well. Cesspool. Has been for decades.
People forget that in the days and weeks after 9/11 there was a lot of hand-wringing by the elites of possible backlash against all the Muslim immigrants. Therefore any true stories of celebrations of Muslims in the US were suppressed....
In fact though, there were many anecdotes and stories (including in writing—rare—the one above) of eyewitnesses to Muslims celebrating the attacks. Of course on the West Bank, the Palestinian Arab celebrations are well documented....
I prefer to refer to these "sick people" as anti-American Leftists and or Islamists. I don't buy into the "Universal Values" mythology the Left promotes. Islamists celebrate what we consider horrific acts of terror by what we consider 'sick people'. We are at war with an ideology, Islam, that promotes horror and sick people.
