This is apparently one of those things that is an open, and yet non-discussed, secret.
Several people have queried why they would be getting Ted Cruz campaign donation requests/solicitation directly from Breitbart, and/or getting donation requests from Ted Cruz on Breitbart letterhead.
The answer is simple, yet perhaps like me you never knew.
The Breitbart Media Group is financially backed and funded by Hedge-fund billionaire Robert Mercer. Mercer was/is the originating financial backer for the Ted Cruz "Keep the Promise" (KtP 1, KtP2 and KtP3) Super-PACs. Mercer is also the financial backing behind Cambridge Analytica.
Cambridge Analytica is the receiver of the contact information provided to Breitbart when you participate in their on-line Presidential Poll.
In essence, when you participate the Breitbart poll, you are sending your personal information into a data-base controlled by the proprietary interests of Robert Mercer, Cambridge Analytica. The Ted Cruz campaign then uses the data collected to fund-raise on behalf of the Campaign.
Perhaps I'm the last person to discover that Breitbart is essentially a political operation of the Cruz campaign, but this is akin to realizing the Clinton Global Initiative is the financial underwriter for the New York Times.
While all the dots have never been fully assembled, the facts around relationship have been discussed in various articles, yet never connected:
~ Politico outlines the Robert Mercer financial underwriting/ownership of Breitbart HERE
~ Christian Science Monitor article showing how much Mercer is invested in Ted Cruz HERE The New York Times goes into greater detail HERE
~ Politico July article outlining Robert Mercer's financial underwriting of Cambridge Analytica to collect: "psychographic" analyses of voters to try to win them over with narrowly targeted micro-messages" HERE
~ FEC distribution showing Ted Cruz Leadership PAC - Pre-Presidential Bid â Paying Cambridge Analytica HERE
It would appear the entire reason for Breitbart.Com to put their Presidential Preference Poll together was to gather information on visitors for later distribution to the Ted Cruz campaign, with the expressed intention of micro-targeting those participating visitors.
Knowing all of this, it certainly makes sense now why so many people have noted that Breitbart goes to extraordinary lengths to avoid any critical mentions of their candidate, Ted Cruz.
After all, this unique and unconventional relationship means Breitbart Media has a vested financial interest in Ted Cruz's candidacy, and a profound conflict of interest for any political editorial surrounding the ongoing 2016 Presidential Primary.
Sunlight is the best disinfectant, and now you know ...
LOL...I received a few of those, as well.
My fave was....donate at least $35.00 (to Cruz) within 48 hours and you’ll receive your very own Cruz Crew membership card.
Eat Your Ovaltine!!
I only get emails from Donald Trump and they are always upbeat, updates on where he has been and thanks to all of his supporters. The one today ended -
Next week we will visit Columbus, Ohio and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina before the Thanksgiving Holiday. It is such an important time to reflect on the blessings in our lives. Even though our country is in serious trouble, we have a lot to be thankful for. I am most thankful for my wonderful family and all of you. With your continued support we will Make America Great Again.
God Bless You and Yours,
Donald J. Trump
Strange, I’ve noticed just the opposite. That Cruz has emulated Trump....on taxes, on immigration (finally saying the word deport and wall).
I was for Cruz, way before Trump. I’ve donated time and $$ to his Senate and Prez campaigns, attended rallies/events (before and after he announced)....so I know what he’s been saying/doing on the speaking trail.
He just doesn’t have the fire and support that Trump does. I never saw the size crowds at Cruz events, like I’ve seen all across the country, with Trump.
I like Cruz and love him as my Senator. Would love to see Cruz as VP....as HEAD of the Senate. Smack, pow....take that Midge McConnell :)
Received that one, too.
I didn’t realize the crowd sizes at his rallies, this past week....
It has been another terrific week on the campaign trail!
I want to thank the more than 10,000 SUPPORTERS who came out in Knoxville, Tennessee on Monday, the 12,000 SUPPORTERS who attended our rally in Worcester, Massachusetts on Wednesday, the 10,000 SUPPORTERS who attended our rally in Birmingham, Alabama on Saturday and all of the fantastic people who attended the town halls in Newton, Iowa on Thursday and Spartanburg, South Carolina on Friday.
......10, 000 — 12,000....that’s amazing!
Go Trump!!
Trump’s not owned by ANY PAC or Special Interest group.
Got to love it!
Interesting. Weren’t there accusations, denied, that Trump was somehow buying favorable coverage from them?
Certainly a couple of months ago, at least, they did seem rather more pro-Trump than outwardly pro-Cruz.
Conservatives give money to various conservative groups and candidates, thank goodness - the more the better. So do rich conservatives, thank goodness - the more the better. Now, it would be news if liberals/rich liberals, gave to Ted Cruz. There is a limit of how much money one can give to a campaign and every person who gives is listed in the financial reports every candidate has to make every few months. Donor names cannot be hidden.
The Super Pac mentioned, or any Pac cannot be controlled by the candidate. The Pac is separate and they can advertise for the candidate and they do and the candidate doesn't know what they are doing.
I recall one election when I got an envelope from a group that was sending out mail in ballot applications for a certain candidate. I was the Judge of the Early Voting Ballot Board and I knew that application was not valid - it didn't have the right information on it for it to be valid. I contacted the candidate about this and he had no idea who these people were who sent those out - he was hit broadside with these people doing this. Sooo, I called our Secretary of State, Elections Division Director and told her. She notified all County Clerks in the state these faulty applications should not be taken. That is what can happen when the candidate has no control of these groups.
Candidates and your email address: Every Republican candidate got my email address from somewhere. I marked all of them as "junk" so they immediately go to my junk mail list, don't appear in my Inbox. Ted Cruz surely got mine when I donated to his campaign and his emails go to my Inbox.
‘Fire’ is fine...Trumps been well known for that as he is now.......but as I said before there's a difference between a rally and a debate on the issues.
As for Trumps support....well I'm not one to follow the masses , in fact when it's an election I'm especially careful about masses gearing up for a candidate who talks a good talk and fires up the crowds after watching Obama’s run, and despite the facts about him being presented people just ignored/excused them as we know.
I'd already determined if Cruz ran I'd be in his court all the way after watching him well before he announced.....but I can't say I haven't enjoyed watching Trump....and can support some of his rants etc....but I cannot honestly say I'd want him running this country as green as he is and as volatile as he is, when Imo we need someone more level headed and who has been 'consistently strong' on the issues I care about seeing changed...and knows the terrain very well and how to get those brought forward....Cruz knows and has been basically one man 'fighting' Washington for sometime....and I very much like how he operates.
....Trump not so much.....just too unstable when this nation is where it is, as well Internationally.....and I think he's going to bend on significant issues in order to get those favorable to what he himself wants....right now all he wants is "the win"... I don't trust he's going to do as he says...but he sure knows how to "tickle peoples ears" to what they want to hear.
Obama did that too had strong support as well.....even though they were all wrong about how they saw him........Trump's run reminds me of how it went for Obama...and that in itself gives me great caution.
I'll stick with the man I know is solid in what he believes about this country.....and the convictions he has of....
I get a kick out of Trump always mentioning he doesn't take contributions, that he's paying his own way.......but then he doesn't consider that his billions and threats to sue aren't an more "fair" then what he pleads so often needs to be "fair" in how he's treated.....he sat that bar....nobody else did.

Ditto! That’s why I’m supporting Trump.
We’ll have to agree to disagree on each other’s points ;-)
Well...we’ve been doing that for some time now.....I don’t think either of us will be swayed from who we support.
You’re one of the extremely rare Trump supporters who can be engaged with regarding Cruz and Trump without boiling over....I appreciate that.
Do you do anything besides drunk post?
Yes that’s very true. Overall BB has been very supportive. I’ll look for yours.
Asking you to prove it is not drunk posting.
Your response was pathetic because you can’t prove a damn thing you bleated out.
I’m not obligated to prove anything to you. I offered my personal knowledge as related to me & others, on another forum. If you don’t want to believe it, don’t.
I can only assume your over-the-top response, was because (as they have always said on the Internet): “I must have hit a nerve!” regarding Conservative Treehouse.
Hope this Hepps.
I had forgotten all about you.
Alcohol-induced fog, no doubt.
