The war on terror, that campaign without end launched 14 years ago by George Bush, is tying itself up in ever more grotesque contortions. On Monday the trial in London of a Swedish man, Bherlin Gildo, accused of terrorism in Syria, collapsed after it became clear British intelligence had been arming the same rebel groups the defendant was charged with supporting.
The prosecution abandoned the case, apparently to avoid embarrassing the intelligence services. The defence argued that going ahead with the trial would have been an âaffront to justiceâ when there was plenty of evidence the British state was itself providing âextensive supportâ to the armed Syrian opposition.
Terrorism has come about in assimilationist France and also in multicultural Britain. Why is that?
That didnât only include the ânon-lethal assistanceâ boasted of by the government (including body armour and military vehicles), but training, logistical support and the secret supply of âarms on a massive scaleâ. Reports were cited that MI6 had cooperated with the CIA on a ârat lineâ of arms transfers from Libyan stockpiles to the Syrian rebels in 2012 after the fall of the Gaddafi regime.

We’ve already known much of this for a long time.
Obama is the John The Baptist of Islam, paving the way for the Caliphate.
We knew the Arab Spring was Obama ridding the Arab/Muslim world of secular dictators in order to replace them with Islamists.
Iran gets nukes. ISIS gets it’s foot soldiers inside Europe and the USA.
KABOOM!
Chaos, slaughter and warfare.
The Mahdi can then come.
So sayeth their hadiths and prophecies.
In typical liberal asshat fashion, the only western leader mentioned in the article is George Bush, even though it mainly covers events after he left office. Obama, Clinton, Cameron, never mentioned
Actually, the war could have been won under Bush. They had a meat grinder operation going and were killing terrorists as fast as they could be recruited and sent in. We should have never shut that down.
Obama’s wars in Libya and Syria and Egypt are Bush’s fault. Coo Coo, Coo Coo...
Yep, that’s right. Doesn’t mention John McCain or Lindsey Graham either. They were chin deep in all of it.
We’ll...looks like the UniParty to me...New World Order gang. Enough blame for all these SOB’s. Still going on now, why GOPe is no different than the Demorats.
I agree John McCain or Lindsey Graham were (are) total morons on Syria strategy, but they never were in a position to implement anything, just to bloviate. The policies implemented were all Obama/Clinton.
They lobbied very hard for the Obama policy he implemented.
One could easily say it wouldn’t have been implemented without them.
I say this, because John and Lindsey provided cover for him. He could point to them and say it was an effort supported by both parties.
I understand your point, and technically you’re right. In the real world, they’re as guilty as he is > IMO.
fuelled = caused
Funny how that always works, isn't it.
>> tying itself up in ever more grotesque contortions
GFY, Milne.
They’re all to blame, Democrat and Republican-e leaders. The writer, ironically, names only George Bush - while talking about the Libya invasion and arms running to Syria, all of which happened under Obama. But the Iraq invastion and Libya invasion were two peas in a pod — both were part of the idea that the US needed to “liberate” the middle east from dictators who just happened to be keeping a lid on all the crazy jihadis. Bush started the policy; Obama continued it. And now, they’re trying to do the same thing in Syria by ousting Assad.
True enough, but ultimately Obama was the decision maker, and for the article to only name Bush who really had nothing to do with it bugs me.
only name Bush who really had nothing to do with it bugs me.
Why do so many freepers feel the overwhelming need to stand up for George Bush? If he’s so great, want aren’t you supporting his brother for president now?
The author of this piece of garbage is an absolute jagoff. He does a good impression of George Galloway thou. This jerk presents ISIS/AQI as freedom fighters in the global war against George W Bush. Anyone who takes anything from this article should be ashamed of themselves. I would put that person in the same category as Bowe Bergdahl. Though I will cut some people slack because a lot of people around here have shown themselves too stupid to even understand what the writer is driving at.
So tell me again why terrorists such as Jihadi John inside Syria speak with British accents...
“This jerk presents ISIS/AQI as freedom fighters in the global war against George W Bush.”
You need reading glasses. The article says ISIS is a terrorist organization - that has been backed by US support, including US-facilitated arms shipments from Libya. The article OUGHT to call out Obama by name, but it focuses on 2012 — when Obama was in office, so same difference.
It starts out by mentioning Bush - because Bush’s invasion of Iraq is what started this whole US policy of destabilizing the Middle East and allowing the jihadis to run wild. And that, Jack, is a fact. I can’t get over how so many freepers think they have a duty to defend George Bush, the most liberal Republican president in a century. If Bush is so great, why aren’t you for his brother this year, so Jeb can continue the Bush greatness in the White House?
So tell me again why terrorists such as Jihadi John inside Syria speak with British accents...
What’s your point? Whatever accent they speak with, the US is supporting jihadis in Syria.
