According to Social Justice Internet, it's totally fine to enjoy foods from other cultures - as long as you don't call the food "authentic," act like it's out of the ordinary, or forget to get upset about Islamophobia every time you eat hummus.

The yuppie invasion is really just in Manhattan and Brooklyn. The rest of NY is mostly dominated by various foreign groups.
My biggest worry is that progressives won’t be able to keep up this level of insanity all the way until the election. They’ll come down a bit and appear normal.
I knew this was coming as soon as I heard the words “cultural appropriation” in regards to Halloween costumes.
There is no way I could forget about Islamophobia when eating hummus in a Middle Eastern restaurant. But, I do pack heat and sit with my back to a wall...
