Gonzalez claims he was unfairly targeted because he was carrying a gun.
The traffic stop began routine enough. Rosenberg officer Sgt. Anthony Schnacky asked Gonzalez for his license and insurance.
"Yeah, what's the reason you stopped me?" Gonzalez asked.
"I'll tell you in just a minute," the officer replied.
But when Gonzalez informed Sgt. Schnacky that he was legally carrying a concealed firearm, the tone of the situation shifted dramatically.
The officer called for backup and they both approached the driver's window -- one of them with his gun drawn. Schnacky ordered Gonzalez to put his hands on the steering wheel and "step out of the truck" with his hands on the back of his head.
Gonzalez was then handcuffed and arrested. When he asked the officer why he was being arrested, Schnacky replied, "For your traffic violations."
"Just because I have a handgun on me and a license to carry should not be a big deal, but that is what made it the turning point," Gonzalez told KPRC-TV, adding that he would have likely received a citation and set free if he wasn't armed at the time.
The dash cam footage aired by KPRC-TV is heavily edited and doesn't include the entire interaction that occurred prior to the man's arrest. Schnacky also told the backup officer that Gonzalez was being uncooperative, according to the news station.
The Rosenberg Police Department has reportedly determined the officers didn't violate any police procedures.

Cops are the biggest pussies. They used the situation to exert their authority and lethal force control over someone not posing a threat.
Police procedures? No. The Constitution and Law? Yes!
Where was this?
Rosenberg, Texas
Somewhere in Russia perhaps? Or, China?
a SW Houston suburb
Hard to believe that this is TX. Got pulled over in PA for a broken light. Told the officer I was carrying. He said thanks for telling me and that was that.
And when a real threat happens, like Columbine, they hide behind their patrol cars until it is safe to come out.
Only answer the questions asked. Do not ask your own questions. Yeah, you may have the right to ask why you were stopped but do you want to get home tonight? Do you want a situation to escalate? I don’t. So, it’s yes sir, no sir and I’m on my way. It generally takes two to dance and I’ll sit this one out, thank you.
Once it escalates you start spending money. Get arrested and you’re potentially out $10,000.
And cops sometimes wonder why they are treated with disdain by many of us in the law-abiding community...?
It’s reasons like this.
I’m not a cop. But I think I’d more more worried about the person who’s carrying and doesn’t tell me they are vs a person who does tell me they are carrying.
This cop absolutely did not have to be a dick about this. But he chose to. Why?
BECAUSE HE’S A COP, THAT’S WHY?!
Black Officers and a “White Hispanic”. Racial profiling?
something is fishy. In Texas all the LEO’s know that CCL’s have had a background check. If anything they have been known to get breaks.
I want the rest of the story...
That’s the normal reaction from most police offices I know that are good.
However, the bad cops, like these two thugs, should be fired immediately. They are a liability and do more to damage community relations with police than help.
I know what the law say's....but I don't volunteer that info. Too..many dumb cops out there.
My youngest kid...was pulled over in Tulsa, OK....because the cop didn't recognize her license plate. Here in OK...Native Tribes issue their own license plates...and she is Native..and has one. There are thousands of them...Creek, Cherokee, Osage, Pottawatomie, Choctaw...etc..etc...
The cop held my daughter there for 30 min...until a supervisor came on the scene..and probably educated the moron..and let my kid go on.
There has got to be more to this story. A lot more.
This is not the behavior of a cop on a normal stop.
“The dash cam footage aired by KPRC-TV is heavily edited”
Trust your betters.
Gee, where have we heard that before?
