Donald Trump is looking increasingly likely to win the Republican nomination in 2016 â and it may not even be close.
Four months after being widely dismissed as a celebrity candidate who would wither under scrutiny, Trump isnât just defying political gravity. Heâs powering past it as he expands his leads in both national polls and critical early voting states.
A new Reuters poll conducted mostly after the November 13 attacks in Paris found Trump with more than double the support of his nearest rival nationally, taking 36 percent of Republican primary voters to Ben Carsonâs 14.6 percent. A Morning Consult poll released Tuesday showed the billionaire with an even loftier lead, polling 38 percent to Carsonâs 19 percent as Senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz languished in the single digits.
A University of Massachusetts survey released Monday shows a closer contest â but Donald Trump still manages to outpoll the fading Ben Carson by nine points.

A much different picture on a national level.
Don’t pretend that you believe FOX is not in the tank for Rubio. Trump still gets a little time, but every anchor is repeating the crap that the electorate will wake up someday and discover that Trump does not have the right mix of sophistication and establishment leanings to hold office.
This translates to Trump is not bought by the right people (not bought by anyone) and not cool enough to come to our parties. Common GeronL, Common Fox, there is only one candidate who is bold enough to get the country out of the mess that it is in. (Sorry Ben, not even your intellect is enough, you have to have this thing called natural leadership.)
As for Hillary, I believe these are push polls by FOX, shame on them, and leadership is not something Hillary has much of. (If you want corruption, maybe she can lead) but Trump will take nearly every electoral vote against Hillary, any poll to the contrary (from FOX) is clueless as to what is really happening in this country.
My question is in the internals of this poll....how many of the respondents are democRATS. Most polls are 37-39% Dem to 28-31% Repub, and the rest are undeclared democRATS (Ind),
The all use some “special sauce” to try an normalize the data, but when you over-sample democRATS, the whole poll is skewed.
They are trying to push and shape the voters, not report on public sentiment.
Pick a year. He’s offered support for our enemies in the Democrat Party more times than I can tally.
Like this, for example:
VAN SUSTEREN: The new president-elect, what are your thoughts? Pretty exciting, it’s always exciting when we have a change of power, a transition, but what are your thoughts.
TRUMP: It’s very exciting we have a new president. It would have been nice if he ended with a 500 point up instead of down. It’s certainly very exciting. His speech was great last night. I thought it was inspiring in every way. And, hopefully he’s going to do a great job. But the way I look at it, he cannot do worse than Bush.
VAN SUSTEREN: We know how you feel about this.
TRUMP: It’s not me, it’s everybody. It’s been a total catastrophe. That’s what happened to Republicans. They got run are out of office because we have president that’s been so bad. And he’s been a catastrophe, there’s no question about it. He got us into a war we didn’t need. You look at the money, we’re spending hundreds of billions of dollars on a war, and then people wonder why the economy isn’t doing well. OPEC is ripping us off left and right, the oil countries are just ripping us off left and right. So you have wars, you have OPEC, all of this stuff. He didn’t do anything about it. He sends Condoleezza Rice. She gets off a plane and waves to everybody and then leaves. It’s ridiculous.
And then here’s his thoughts on health care back in 1999 ...
TRUMP: I think you have to have it, and, again, I said I’m conservative, generally speaking, I’m conservative, and even very conservative. But I’m quite liberal and getting much more liberal on health care and other things. I really say: What’s the purpose of a country if you’re not going to have defensive and health care? If you can’t take care of your sick in the country, forget it, it’s all over. I mean, it’s no good. So I’m very liberal when it comes to health care. I believe in universal health care. I believe in whatever it takes to make people well and better.
KING: So you believe, then, it’s an entitlement of birth?
TRUMP: I think it is. It’s an entitlement to this country, and too bad the world can’t be, you know, in this country. But the fact is, it’s an entitlement to this country if we’re going to have a great country.
And then, as you probably saw, Trump’s post-2012 comments on illegal immigration: “Republicans didn’t have anything going for them with respect to Latinos and with respect to Asians,” the billionaire developer says.
“The Democrats didn’t have a policy for dealing with illegal immigrants, but what they did have going for them is they weren’t mean-spirited about it,” Trump says.
“They didn’t know what the policy was, but what they were is they were kind.” Romney’s solution of “self deportation” for illegal aliens made no sense and suggested that Republicans do not care about Hispanics in general, Trump says. “He had a crazy policy of self deportation which was maniacal,” Trump says.
“It sounded as bad as it was, and he lost all of the Latino vote,” Trump notes. “He lost the Asian vote. He lost everybody who is inspired to come into this country.” The GOP has to develop a comprehensive policy “to take care of this incredible problem that we have with respect to immigration, with respect to people wanting to be wonderful productive citizens of this country,” Trump says.

You do realize that for the most part, 0bama has gotten just about everything he wanted so far? Regardless of his ineptness, stupidity, and general nastiness, he’s one of the most successful presidents. Successful, not by our standards, but in implementing every destructive thing he’s pretty much set out to do. This is a point Rush and Co. make often, and is why Rush initially declared his hope that Obama would fail.
So if 0bama can accomplish all this for evil, maybe Trump can flip it and do it for good. I dunno.
GO TRUMP! GO CRUZ~ YOU WIN OR WE LOSE!
You are very welcome!
I can’t wait for Reuters to come up
with a poll that fits your narrative.
Maybe then you’ll stop with the notion
that Reuters has some kind of skin in
the game.
50 States, a clean sweep and super majorities in House and Senate and Governorships.
I look for a calvacade of republicans stumping with him including Sarah Palin and maybe even Rush.
If he teams up with Cruz it would be a run away, but then again, Trump wants to be unpredictable. Hinting that he’s taking Cruz as a running mate might get people to stop taking Cruz seriously.
FOX news hates Trump. This is off of the head to head in the other polls
Nope.
It requires him to do nothing of the sort; for he'd be the winner.
He'll have 4 years; just like any other dude or dudette that becomes POTUS.
So would my youngest goat!
I thought primaries were invented to avoid
having brokered conventions. And at Trump’s
present dominance, he should have enough
delegates to blow through the first
round, securing the nomination. If the
GOPe tries to nuke him, it could end the party.
So I can only speculate.
RNC members make up about 10% of the delegates automatically. SO those would probably be the first to conspire. But then they'd need all the non-Trump delegates plus then they'd need to bribe or coerce the Trump ones.
Hillary will get the black, Hispanic, and RINO vote along with the other Democrats. Could be closer than you think.
I believe Trump supported Reagan
From this article...
http://www.wsj.com/articles/records-show-scant-reagan-trump-ties-1442359829
“One month after Mr. Reagan announced his candidacy on Nov. 13, 1979, Mr. Trump, his parents, sister and brother each made the maximum federal campaign contribution allowed—but not to Mr. Reagan. The Trumps all gave to the re-election campaign of Democratic President Jimmy Carter, according to Federal Election Commission records.”
