Trump names Cruz when asked about VP spot

Donald Trump on Tuesday named Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) when asked about his possible running mate in 2016.

"Ted Cruz is agreeing with me 100 percent," he said when asked about his vice presidential pick, according to Lifezette.

"Well, I like him," Trump told radio host Laura Ingraham during her broadcast. "He's backed everything I’ve said."

Unlike most of the Republican presidential hopefuls, Cruz has mostly refrained from attacking Trump, even appearing alongside him at a rally in September against the Iran nuclear deal.

The pair has also struck similar tones on topics such as border security and illegal immigration.

Still, Trump suggested late Monday that he will turn on Cruz if he becomes a threat to his front-runner status.

"If he catches on, I guess we'll have to go to war," he told host Joe Kernen on CNBC's "Squawk Box."

Cruz and Trump are also on the same page in opposing President Obama's plan to resettle 10,000 Syrian refugees in the U.S. Trump on Tuesday said Germany's decision to accept the refugees is going to "destroy" that country.

"Look what [Angela] Merkel has done in Germany," he said, citing the German chancellor's resettlement plan for as many as 800,000 Syrians.

"Taking these people is absolute insanity," Trump added. "There are going to be riots over there."

Trump said Obama should worry about defeating the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) first.

“ "He's supposed to be a cheerleader for this country, [but] he just acts like a defeated man," he said.

“Cruz can get what done? All he has done is run a failing campaign and has been a abject failure and hypocrite in the Senate. ...”

Still on your anti-Cruz jihad?

A sensible and ‘politic’ response.

If asked, Cruz would do well to respond symmetrically.
Imagine Donald as Presiding over the bumbling chowderheads in the Senate LOL!
And VP is not a ‘bucket of spit’! Oh wait...

I don’t really care. I want a winner and only Trump can—at the moment—win. Not Cruz, not Bush, not Rubio, or any of the others. Put them up and Clinton wins.

Hmmm. Would Cruz be more valuable as a V.P. or on the Supreme Court? I’d prefer Supreme Court.

Cruz could advise on Court nominees, constitutional law, and Congress.

Seen this thread several times today, no one seems to catch on that Trump is endorsing Cruz.

What if Ted doesn’t want him?

I think they're both intelligent enough to know that there is strength in numbers.

Win, lose, or draw.. BOTH of these guys are America's BEST HOPE.

TRUMP WILL NEVER ACCEPT A VP SPOT. HE doesn’t play ‘2nd’ to no one. It’s not in his DNA.

I would not ‘waste’ CRUZ to a VP spot. I would name him for a Supreme Court vacancy.

What a ticket that would be. We’d have 8 years of America first.

If zer0 doesn’t suspend elections before then.

Cruz/Trump. Let Trump be the barking/biting dog. We need a Constitutionalist at the helm.

Waste of Cruz’s talents. Leave him in the Senate or make him POTUS.

This is bogus. I happened to hear this program and he was very clear that he did not want to name anyone at this time.
