Monday night at a rally in Knoxville, TN, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said instead of bringing refugees to the United States he would build a âbig, beautiful safe zoneâ in Syria.
Trump said, âWhat I like is build a safe zone in Syria. Build a big, beautiful safe zone, and you have whatever it is so people can live, and theyâll be happier.â
Her added, âSo You keep âem in Syria. You build a tremendous safe zone, itâll cost you tremendously much less, much less, and theyâll be there and the weatherâs the same. And the weather is the same and then when this horrible situation that is so horrible run. We donât know what we are doing. When its all over they move back and they go back into their cities, and they rebuild there cities. And they start out and they start over again.â

I'm going for Cruz.
That's what I'm saying.
But folks here (and maybe Trump too) seem to think that's it's either bring them here or build a safe zone in Syria.
ASSAD was a "safe zone" for the vast majority of Syrians.
It's the foolhardy insistence by the US and the "coalition partners" that Assad must go that got us to this situation and the only real solution to to put Assad back in power.
And, he might need US help to kill the monster we created.
Agreed. Some may think Trump is stupid. Thats OK. Let them vote for Republicans.
Now that is Stupid.
“That said, this is a very good idea. Spend our money and resources”
Glad you like it. Give Trump your share and mine because I have no intention of paying to build them squat. in fact, the rest of us opposed to more American spending on Muslims short of Chinese shipping crate rental to send them back should buddy up here with a freeper that likes this madness and make arrangements so the supporters can cover our share.
Sure thing, but there's a big problem: a safe zone has to be, by definition, safe. Who is going to make it safe? Who is going to keep it safe and for how long? The Syrians? Iraqis? An Arab coalition of some sort?
Nope. You know the answer.
Ted Cruz is going to introduce a bill to bar them from the country. That’s all we need to do. I don’t give a crap whether they’re happy or enjoying the weather.
Is The Donald running for president or for sole source building contractor for the government? ;o)
You are aware that Cruz said we should take the refugees in 2014.
Fine with me. Cost a tiny fraction of what it would take to either send troops there or deal with them here.
Indeed, they are, and they are uncomfortable when Sen. Cruz as advocating letting the refugees in just a year ago.
Yep, all the USA has to do is not let them in here.
As for the general war in Syria, we could partner with the Russians to prop up Assad and kill the Jihadis, "leading" our allies to the correct course of action.
Jindal just dropped out of the race! On Fox News right now!
It’s envy, pure & simple. They covet Trump’s success & will say anything to try & bring him down. The thing that worries me is that someone in their group will try & *do* something to bring him down. ‘Deranged’ isn’t just a figure of speech.
There’s even more to it than that, but I’ll stop there.
Why not Iraq?
A man who has accomplished what he's accomplished has a mind that works in far greater depth and detail than most of us understand.
One thing is quite apparent. He's NOT talking about IMPORTING and INTEGRATING TERRORISTS into our midst.
What would be more beautiful, thousands of Syrians staying Syria, or 100,000 Syrians running through the NY subway systems?
When you support Trump, trying to play the flip=flop game is a sure loser.
Bobby Jindal is bowing out of the Primary campaign this very minute on Fox. Heâs out!
“You are aware that Cruz said we should take the refugees in 2014.”
His conversation was cut in two so one didn’t hear the whole thing. He was talking about bringing in Christians and still says we should bring in Christians. He has been saying that since Christian beheadings started.
After the events in Paris on 11/13, I will be adding
this to my posts for the next week. I'm certain our
turn is coming again soon. We stand united against
Islamic extremists.
Some music for reflection if the mood strikes you.

An honorable mention also goes out to Lassana Bathily , a Muslim immigrant from Mali.
Mr. Bathily sheltered customers at the Jewish Deli and helped police by providing info
on the terrorists, and providing the location of survivors in the deli.
