Donald Trump is proving he will take extreme measures to protect America against Islamic terrorists.
The Republican presidential candidate said he would be open to shutting down mosques in the U.S. during an interview with "Morning Joe".
"I would hate to do it," Trump said. "But it's something that you're going to have to strongly consider."
"Because some of the ideas and some of the hatred — the absolute hatred — is coming from these areas," he continued.
"It's something that many people — it's not me — it's something that many people are considering, and many people are going to do," Trump said.
"The hatred is incredible. It's embedded. It's embedded. The hatred is beyond belief. The hatred is greater than anybody understands."
Trump is in favor of setting up surveillance at mosques to ensure no future terrorist attacks are being planned.
"You're going to have to watch and study the mosques," Trump said.
"Because a lot of talk is going on at the mosques. And from what I heard, in the old days — meaning a while ago — we had great surveillance going in and around mosques in New York City," he added.
"And I understand our mayor totally cut that out."

I would not be for any type of blanket “shut-down” of mosques. As a Christian - when will they come for my church?
Of course - that probably (hopefully) isn’t what Trump is talking about. Investigate mosques based on evidence. I think one in Chicago is under investigation for money laundering to terrorist organizations. Of course they say they are donating to middle east charities!
And even then, if they are found guilty of promoting and assisting violence or crimes - do you shut down the entire place - or just put really harsh sentences on the leaders and those involved? I suppose with some long-term criminal history and stuff they could go after it as the entire mosque claiming it was pervasive.
The one way to deal with it though is to understand, and re-label Islam as a political/governing body rather than just as a religion. Although I suppose that would be impossible to do. (Just like Scientology is more of a business scheme than a religion, but good luck changing that.)
So - Mohammad invented Islam as a way of governing/religion to get the people under his rule to think the same way so they could be kept under control.
He is an old man. He wants a legacy. 10 billion isn’t enough for him. Great kids, not enough. May I be the first to suggest that if he does a great job the Trump memorial is adding his face to Rushmore? I see that in him. Wanting universal love and reverence after his death.

If by chance Trump were to ask me for advice on how to deal with these mosques nationally and rationally, my second thought would be this proposal.
Make each one take out a $50 million bond, each and every one of them, refusal means building destroyed and property auctioned off.

It is the dualism that confuses Americans. They can say they are peaceful and they can in the next breathe participate in violent jihad. Most religions teaches how to become better in their perspective faiths, with little guidance on people who don’t follow their faith. Islam teaches Moslems what to think and how to treat non-believers. About a 1/3 of the texts. This is where we can fight Islam as not a true religion & in compatible with our Constitution.
You are being too egalitarian in trying to equate things that can't be equated. Islam is a death cult.... normally the state leaves cults alone until their activities impact others (particularly law abiding citizens). Islam is well beyond that point. Just because it is a BIG death cult doesn't change anything...they are still a death cult and as such, the State has an interest in shutting it down.
If you believe this, you do not understand the threat that is Islam. Islam is a political system, closely related to Nazism, and portrays itself as a “religion”. Islam is a DEATH CULT.
