Police officials in France say there has been an explosion in a bar near a Paris stadium and a shootout in a Paris restaurant.

I just joined the thread but what a decent good thing to say, D1.

I was in a computer parts store with my adult / teen sons when I looked over at the tv section and saw the headline blazing across the screen. What a shock. I lived in France for a year and spent a month in Paris once.
And my sons both know that band and go to metal concert all the time. It just hurts.

If the plan is, and has been in place all you do is wait for the order, then execute. I commanded a military police company just south of the DMZ. The day I took command, I went to the safe in my operations room and reviewed the companies war plan. It had been in effect (with slight revisions) for years. It remained in effect the entire time I was in command. We rehearsed it, or parts of it continuously, but never executed it, but my responsibility was to ensure that my unit was ready to implement it at a moments notice.

There's no reason to believe a terrorist cell would not have similarly have plans they continuously refined and updated just waiting for the order to execute.

Arrested?! Why isn't he dead, wrapped up in pig skin, soaked in pigs blood and on his way back home to be dropped from 10,000 feet back onto his homeland?

German Chancellor Angela Merkel says she is "deeply shaken by the news and pictures that are reaching us from Paris". The German leader issued a statement saying her thoughts were with the victims "of the apparent terrorist attack".

It does hurt. Too many have forgotten how we felt on 9/11 and 9/12. We would do well to remember as would France as they try to pick up the pieces and heal. That anger and resolute determination should be our guide to all decisions involving these people who believe their God demands our deaths.
