All I can say is read most of the responses to this post and if you don't get the idea that this is a non-news hit piece and it is the media that should be attacked, good luck to you.
This is not a non news hit piece. Does it show media bias since the media will not publish this type of story about Dems. Yes, but this story shows that Carson is not the man I thought he is. I’d much rather have this type of story out now rather than later, so that we can judge Ben Carson’s character early in the process.
He should have felt betrayed and broke off his relationship with this man, but instead he still has business dealings with him and a continued relationship. The man was given a lenient sentence because of references from Carson and others. He was sentenced to house arrest in his over 8,000 square foot mansion and was still allowed to petition the court to leave for a month at a time. Evidently, the law was not applied equally in this case. Ben’s friend and business partner committed fraud and received a slap on the hand.
What investment makes between $200,000 and $2 million a year?
That is quite a difference and at the low end quite a lot of money. You have to own quite a lot of square footage of real estate to bring in that kind of money.
Since retiring it is being reported that Carson has made 26 million dollars.
I always wondered how he did that.

Carson’s appeal for leniency toward Costa contradicts the draconian criminal penalties he called for in his 2013 political treatise, “America the Beautiful.” In his book, Carson wrote that anyone found guilty of health care fraud should face what he called the “Saudi Arabian Solution.”
“Why don’t people steal very often in Saudi Arabia?” Carson asked. “Obviously because the punishment is the amputation of one or more fingers. I would not advocate chopping off people’s limbs, but there would be some very stiff penalties for this kind of fraud, such as loss of one’s medical license for life, no less than 10 years in prison, and loss of all of one’s personal possessions.”
Despite the tough-on-crime message, Carson and his wife kept their investment with Costa in the years since his conviction. Tax bills for the Pittsburgh office building owned by the couple are mailed to Costa Land Co. A recent lease for a portion of the property was signed on the Carsons’ behalf by the president of Costa’s company.
I will never understand how the Clintons have gotten away with so much.
My brother had a friend that he became a business partner with. They are both Christian, but his friend had been caught driving 100 MPH+ down the 5 freeway in CA and had a drink before the ride; he could have very easily killed himself and others
Now my brother and I both think that ANY person that is caught doing something like this should get the full penalty of the law; but that does not mean that we would not help a friend out in court as a character witness. My brother's friend still got a hefty fine and 30 days work furlough in which My brother and I think he deserved.
Now does my brother still do business with him? Of course he does; the conviction had nothing to do with him. Can my brother be right in forgiving his friend? My brother has nothing to forgive as it had nothing to do with him, nor did the incident disrupt there business together.
I'll grant you this; there is one question I would ask of Carson about Costa, and that being since he is such a close friend, would he bring him on his staff as President? The article does not say whether or not Costa is on his election staff at present.
I bet Trump’s not spending a dime. This has the GOPe/CoC/Media cartel written all over it. All part of the plan to grease the skids for Bush or maybe Rubio.

And Carson didn't simultaneously work for a bank that made fraudulent real estate loans to old people to bilk them of their retirement money or have a $1000 investment turn a $100,000 profit.
Your brother’s friend didn’t commit fraud. Would your brother still be in business with him if his partner committed fraud in his business dealings?
