FBN described the debates and moderators:

The second debate will span two hours and be moderated by FBN anchors Maria Bartiromo, Neil Cavuto and WSJ Editor-in-Chief Gerard Baker.
The debates will focus on the most important business and economic issues facing the United States including job creation, social security and taxes.
Taxes should never be based on gross sales. Gross sales between various businesses are never comparable! For example a gasoline service station can have extremely high gross sales, but a very low profit margin, because the markup on gasoline is very small, only a few cents per gallon, but they sell MANY gallons at high volume, giving an exaggerated sales volume. On the other hand, a retail store that sells high end desirable consumer goods may sell fewer items but have a very good markup. The two stores that have the highest gross sales per square foot in the country are completely different. The number one stores with over $10,000 per square foot of sales, which just took over that ranking last year, is a gasoline chain, but their profit margins are very low. While the number two stores, which were number one for over ten years, are the Apple retail stores with around $6000 per square foot--which outsell Tiffany Jewelry's $4500--but Apple stores have the highest profit per square foot of any retail store as well.
Treating those two chains equally by taxing them on gross sales receipts would be insanity. It would force the gasoline chain into bankruptcy, but would be a blessing to Apple. . . The proper way to tax any business is on net revenue, not gross sales receipts. Net Revenue is gross sales receipts after the legitimate business expenses such as cost of sales, inventory, payroll, overhead, product acquisition and/or manufacturing costs, shipping, bookkeeping, etc. are subtracted. Only then will you have a fair and equitable basis for a flat taxation to be applied.
Before Trump even hinted he might run this time, Cruz was already the LEADING champion of safe borders.
On the other hand, if Trump quits piling on a good Christian’s personal reputation without admitting that he fell for slander-reports, I would admire his stand on immigration greatly.
Great analysis about Trump as a big ideas man.
“if Trump quits piling on a good Christianâs personal reputation”
Maybe the jury is still out on whether a cult member is a good Christian. We will know when we all get to Heaven.
Brilliant minds think alike. ha.
Good call...Trump respects hard work.He is a billionaire who respects the working class and wants them to move UP.
“Maybe the jury is still out on whether a cult member is a good Christian.”
Yeah, I remember when Romney was bashed religiously. Of course, since he’s incredibly rich, the bashing was less effective.
A good point against taxing receipts, but the thing you are arguing should be taxable is (more or less) operating income, not net revenue.
Net revenue is defined as total receipts (accrued or actual depending on accounting method) less sales and excise taxes, and less customer discounts, refunds and credits.
And not only that, but when slander is exposed, what did you post?
You shift accusations.
“Well I will not talk about all that, but he’s a CULT member.”
Is that an honorable way to treat an honorable candidate?
I personally don’t care if a presidential candidate is a Christian, a Mormon, a Catholic, SDA, atheist, or even a Satanist. I only care that he/she will follow the Constitution 100%. If that happens then every religion or non-religion would retain freedom of speech and worship.
I was addressing the specific issue in that post presuming SDA is Christian.
âWell I will not talk about all that, but heâs a CULT member.â
Why did you post that sentence as if it were a quotation of mine? It is not. Perhaps you intended another FReeper to receive that?
Robot Marco can’t say two sentences what out saying “21st Century”, and Botox General Carly can’t finish a debate (she’s did it in all four now) without acting like she’s Patton and spouting off about the 7th Fleet, and rebuilding the military. And I guarantee you she’s never “personally” met with Putin to talk about policy. Heads of state don’t meet with computer salesmen. Same identical talking points from both these losers every time they open their mouths. Sominex Bennie only has to show up on stage and his equally sleepy supporters are automatically saying he won, when the anyone with a brain knows the has as much business running for president as the man in the moon. There was one winner last night. Donald Trump. He looked and acted presidential while the others desperately tried to remain relevant and they all failed except Cruz.
“Why? Because you say so? No.”
No because you are comparing apples to grapefruits. At least with Perry, you are still comparing apples to apples.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL! You really missed my point?!? That’s hilarious.
Thanks for the early morning laugh.
“OMG, you mean Cruz had a real person moment, where he flubbed his thoughts? Oh, the huge manatee. Stop the presses!!”
Yeah. Just like Rubio took a sip of water and it was headline news for a week. Real person moments only count if you are a liberal. If you are a conservative, you are held to a higher standard and then beaten over the head when you do not live up to it.
This is Alinksy stuff.
“heâs just a âhaterâ by your jaundiced measure.”
Please review my posting history and retract your mistaken statement.
“Said the Paul bot. I see youâve done a lot of Trump bashing, while giving props to Snarly and Paul, tonight.”
Paul Bot? That’s laughable. I’m firmly in the Cruz camp, as my posting history demonstrates.
I’ve given props where appropriate because - you know - I’m actually looking at the points made by the candidates objectively, like intelligent people do. If Carly wants to champion zero-based budgeting, I will cheer her wholeheartedly. I’m guessing you have no idea what that even is, so you don’t know that’s she’s right on that one. Go check Wikipedia and then come claim you knew what it is all along.
Go check slickdeals.net - I hear you can pick up a sweet deal on a clue over there. Get one!
For you to call me a GOPe infiltrator is laughable. I support Cruz - a man who pisses of the GOPe every day.
You Trumpettes are extremely irrational. You automatically assume that - because some of us see through his thin veneer and recognize him as a self-serving opportunist whose convictions change on a whim - that somehow we aren’t looking at Trump objectively. It’s quite the opposite. We are, you’re not.
But that’s the point - people need to be educated on what it is. Zero-based budgeting is *a must* if we are ever going to eliminate all the waste in government and get our spending under control.
Nobody knew the term “white privilege” until the libtards forced it into our lexicon. Can we not echo concepts like zero-based budgeting until everyone understands? It’s not a particularly difficult concept.
