I emailed him, as a monthly supporter. I said that this concerned me and I’d heard that he supported a 500% increase in these H1B visas. I told him that I knew a lot of tech people, many of which lost retirement benefits, cannot get another job in the tech industry, etc. I’m not saying that he listened to my complaint, but I am very glad that he has addressed this right away. In every other way, he is the most conservative candidate out there, and I think the one who’d really keep his word the most.

What clarification?! Did Cruz disavow his support for 500% increase in H1B or does he just want to fine-tune H1B? No go. He has a loser proposition, day late, dollar short.

...I am the only candidate on that stage who has never supported amnesty and who led the fight against the Gang of 8 amnesty bill...
Fought against it by proposing amendments to it?

Official Ted Cruz Senate Website

... In 2013, Sen. Cruz proposed amendments to the "Gang of 8" bill that would strengthen border security, expand green card opportunities, increase high-skilled "H1B" visas,...
Ted Cruz, just another DC fraud.

>I have been very, very concerned at the growing reports of abuse of the program, of companies laying off American workers and replacing them with foreign workers. That’s not what the H-1B program was designed to do.<

.
Hey Ted, start investigating every engineering company and look at the malpractice of the H-1B program that has taken place for the past decade.
about EVERY engineering company is guilty of laying off American engineers and replacing them with foreigners.
Sheesh, this practice has been blatantly pursued for years.

Interesting.

Two about faces in as many days.

Yesterday he’s willing to deport.
Today he’s “for prosecution” of those who abuse the system.
I can’t wait to hear which system that is, the current or the 5x greater variety.

Cruz has made it clear that he supported amnesty—allowing illegals to stay, but not become citizens. In his own way, Trump unfortunately has suggested the same (with a touchback program).

I’d like to see them both get tougher on the issue, but I’m not keen on Cruz lying about it.

Also, Cruz voting for TPA, greasingthe skids for Obama’s massive immigration giveaway in the TPP.

The issue here is about Cruz yet somehow the Posts are increasingly about Trump.

Cruz wanted to increase the h1-b Visa Program 500%. Trump wants to end it. Other than that the topic should be focused on Cruz's position which in my opinion is not a very good one.

Re: “Some clarification on Cruz’ H-1B policy for the record.”

Clarification?

Get serious, Jedi!

On YouTube, there are videos of Ted Cruz in the US Senate introducing an Amendment to increase H-1B visas by 500%!

And - less than a year ago, Ted Cruz told the editorial board of the Union-Ledger newspaper in New Hampshire that he would not deport any illegal immigrant who had not violated other USA laws!

I would love to think Cruz has had a metanoia, but his own words seem to work against that. The H1b program was not designed to bring techs to “generate jobs” and grow the economy. And he must know that. How could such workers do that? The program was established to allow employers in the U.S. to fill jobs with foreign workers temporarily when the could not find a qualified American
worker. Not happy with Cruz yet.

The only candidate who has Any Constitutional leanings is Cruz.. He gets things done, brings the dark ruling class and the dark corporate cronies to light.
Trumpeteers don’t want you to look at public statements and records. their zombie eyes at rallies say it all. They fear, thus they trumpet louder, so people will think Trump is the only candidate with a chance to win. It worked for Obama supporters, same technique... The creepy Donald dress... classless and truly creepy.

Yes, thank you -- the premise of H1B is solid, to bring the best brains to the U.S., as in highly skilled and educated scientists and computer types, not IT workers for Disney! The whole thing has been bastardized and abused. Yet I see a whole lotta people here whining at Ted Cruz because IT jobs are being sold-out to foreign workers, as if H1B was the culprit when clearly, the problem is with companies being able to stretch the definition of who/what H1B covers to a ridiculous extent.

IT workers for Disney -- heck, any worker for Disney, seeing as how Disney's product is strictly entertainment -- shouldn't qualify for any H1B allowance. The problem isn't with H1B, it's with a government/politicians who let big donors/companies get away with abusing it to this extent.

Cruz to victory.

Those are some pretty typical weaselly politicians words. If it’s happening? Only one to have never supported amnesty?

I think the H1-B program in theory serves a valid purpose. However, that ‘purpose’ has been long abused - drastically.

Even this morning we see a thread about the DHS holding the equivalent of a seminar for business and immigration lawyers on “How to deal with the DHS and get bang for your immigration buck.”

The need by an American company should be rigidly documented, proof of trying to fulfill requirement with a citizen should be supplied, and this process should be ONGOING and under review at least bi-annually. Under no circumstance should an American worker be displaced by an H1-B visa entrant.

Lastly, the use of H1B status should NEVER allow a potential immigrant to gain foothold status over anyone else that is applying for entry.

...they're not enforcing the laws against companies that are abusing the H-1B program. If I'm elected President we will have a Dept. of Justice that enforces the law across the board. We will secure the border.

...I am the only candidate on that stage who has never supported amnesty and who led the fight against the Gang of 8 amnesty bill... against Barack Obama and Chuck Schumer and the establishment Republicans trying to grant massive amnesty...

Ted is consistent and he's a fighter.

Going to create jobs by cutting corporate taxes...The corporate windfall will then trickle down to the unemployed...It's not even a nice theory since it's been tried and failed...

Ted just found out that people were abusing the H1B program??? And it's Obama's fault??? You gotta do better than that Ted...

I don't know men/women...There just seems to be so many contradictions...Cruz gets big bucks from this group...

From here:
Similar to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce – “Club for Growth” is a Political Action Committee who support: Amnesty, H1B visa growth programs, ObamaCare and the anti-American Trans-Pacific Trade Deal.

CfG also has deep connections to Goldman Sachs and former banking executives.

Club For Growth only supports candidates who support their “open borders”/ “globalist” objectives: ♦ Amnesty ♦ Comprehensive Immigration Reform ♦ Trans-Pacific Trade Deal

Their current favored candidates are Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz.

He's also the only candidate supporting a half-million increase in then number of H-1Bs. I hope that this is an indication that he's changing on that and wants to reduce the number and not increase it. So I'd like to hear him identify the abuses he says Obama is overlooking and what he would do about it.

If there was any evidence of lawyers' paychecks being decimated by H-1B,
that program would have been killed off years ago.

Some clarification on Cruz' H-1B policy for the record.

Won't matter to some of the "principled" lemmings we have here - they are incapable of intelligent discernment and insist on giving up the whole store because they perceive something that they don't like - whether factual or not matters not a whit to them.
