The president of the University of Missouri system resigned Monday amid criticism of his handling of student complaints about race and discrimination.
President Tim Wolfe said Monday that his resignation is effective immediately. The announcement came at a special meeting of the university system's governing body, the Board of Curators.
The complaints came to a head over the weekend when at least 30 black football players announced they would not participate in team activities until Wolfe was removed or stepped down.
For months, black student groups have complained of racial slurs and other slights on the overwhelmingly white flagship campus of the state's four-college system. Frustrations flared during a homecoming parade Oct. 10 when black protesters blocked Wolfe's car, and he did not get out and talk to them. They were removed by police.
Black members of the football team joined the outcry on Saturday night. By Sunday, a campus sit-in had grown in size, graduate student groups planned walkouts and politicians began to weigh in.

The left was able to purge the universities of much of their non-leftist administration back in the 60s. Now the bolsheviks are purging the mensheviks. Soon, universities will be no place to be unless you are a fully vetted stalinist. Let them have them; Let the marxists turn them into insane asylums. Time to set up institutions for advanced professional training (esp. STEM) that are independent of universities.

Riots would have ensued yes, if the president had done the right thing and stood firm...
I suggest a white student group come forth with some sort of group commplaint, and then document the response...or lack of same, as the administration tells them to just shut up and get on with their studies...

At the core of every big university athletic program there is a lie. It is alleged that the athletes are students who thanks to their athletic scholarships are there to receive an education. The reality is that they are there to perform, showcase their skills and earn money for the university. Education if any is incidental and the injuries are lifelong. The situation at Missouri is a permutation of Ferguson. If the Administration had any backbone it would not succumb to the nonsense. It would announce that collegiate football is being discontinued and the athletes are free to transfer elsewhere. Instead The President of the university proves to be a politically correct wimp. By resigning he concedes more of the constitutional rights of free speech and free association. Utterly disgusting.

Was there this name calling by race and in response did the President make it known publicly that the campus was against the problem and that the Universary would act against it?
If not he should be gone, f he did do that the former President is the victim.

The University of Missouri now has peace in their time.
I’m a Tennessee fan and I was hoping this would not get resolved in 2 weeks. We could beat a bunch of “whities!”
