Family Research Council president Tony Perkins has been broadcasting his “Washington Watch†radio program from Israel this week, where he is helping to lead an FRC tour group. Also on the tour is former Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, who joined Perkins on the program on Wednesday to share her view that biblical prophecy is being fulfilled all around her and that it was more urgent than ever to convert as many people as possible — including Jews — to Christianity to prepare for the imminent return of Christ.
“Almost every article in the paper†has to do with conflicts in Israel, Bachmann said, “and it ties with so much biblical prophecy. This week really was about biblical prophecy in many ways. And we’re seeing as events are speeding up, events are speeding up so quickly right now, and we see how relevant the Bible is, and we’re reading our newspaper, at the same time we’re learning about these biblical events, and it’s literally day by day by day, we’re seeing the fulfillment of scripture right in front of our eyes, even while we’re on the ground.â€
“We recognize the shortness of the hour,†she said, “and that’s why we as a remnant want to be faithful in these days and do what it is that the Holy Spirit is speaking to each one of us, to be faithful in the Kingdom and to help bring in as many as we can — even among the Jews — share Jesus Christ with everyone that we possibly can because, again, He’s coming soon.â€
No, I am protesting the non-Jews who think that my religion is somehow deficient and needs replacing by theirs. They most certainly are NOT just "christians who simply believe in the holy scriptures". They are actively on a path to convert Jews. That is not an act of benevolent coexistence, it's a hostile takeover.
It is, and should be. Get over it. You're not going to change 2000 years of Christianity just to fix your low self esteem.
Christianity is also the example thing, but also much more of the “go out and baptize” thing as Jesus said in the Great Commission. And I guess in the Greek it is not so much “GO” (as in going out to do specific mission/ evangelism), it is more of a “As you are going (about your daily life) be a witness and baptize and teach others to obey what Jesus said.”
yea, that is the calling, let the world know of the one path to salvation and Heaven..Christ is King, and will always be.all knees will bend or perish in their sins.
It is God’s will that His son be recognized as the only hope of mankind to reconcile with G_d. No man is worthy and all have failed except Jesus. To deny Him is to Kick G-d in the teeth and declare your own rightiousness is worthy..The Father wants man to be humbled so that we can hear His ongoing instruction..
I have many Jewish friends..We discuss this openly..

Therefore, we are still waiting for OUR Messiah. .................... Errrrr? Things were bad during the Roman Empire for Jews, that’s when Jesus appeared. Maybe I can understand why they may have thought of him as a messiah back then. I guess things weren’t bad enough for most Jews of the time to accept him, thinking things might get worse in the future? Come 1942, things really got worse, how much worse than 6 million Jewish lives in the course of 3 years? What was the messiah doing, was he tied up in a conference with God? If you are still waiting for the messiah what is it going to take to get his attention 12 million? The more I think about it, the ancients had it right, the Sun is God, without it, there is no man kind. Messiahs and Mahdis come and go, if you ask some folks, they’ll tell you, we even elected one.
Gentlemen, that is not the golden rule of Judaism, though that may be what Christians believe, having adopted a “positive” Love thy neighbor.... (which is also a Jewish rule, predating Christianity, but still not the Golden rule.)
The Golden Rule of Judaism is Shema Yisroel Hashem Elokeinu Hashem Echad, Hear Israel, the L-rd is our G-d, the L-rd is One. The starkest contrast to post-Ebonite trinitarian dogma that there could possibly be.
I have some respect for Bachmann as a politician - she accomplished a lot, much more than most people could ever dream of, even though her political career is pretty much over.
On a religious level - she’s certainly entitled to her beliefs, as are we all, but she is simply WRONG on the issue of converting the Jews (of which I am one). Here’s why:
G-d has a covenant with Israel. A covenant is a holy contract between G-d and a people. It is unbreakable - G-d is not a human being, that He would lie. He suffers from no limitations - he has perfect knowledge of human nature (since He created us and it), and He knows perfectly what is going to happen. So He went into this covenant with the Jewish people - which He, Himself, says is unbreakable for “all your generations” - with His eyes wide open. That Jews in the past (and present) are less than perfect is not a surprise to Him, and yet He keeps His covenant because it is His promise to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Further, just as we humans can have more than one contract that we enter into and hold to at the same time, so does G-d have that capacity. He can have a holy contract with both the Jews and the Gentiles. One can easily look at Christianity as a covenant with the Gentiles...which does not - CAN NOT - abrogate His covenant with the Jews.
By trying to convert Jews, Bachmann is guilty - IMHO - of being on the wrong side of G-d’s promise to Abraham in Genesis 12:3 “And I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse, and all the families of the earth shall be blessed in you.” Bachmann should also remember that Jesus was born a Jew, was raised as a Jew, did not EVER claim not to be a Jew, and died as a Jew - maybe, if she claims Jesus to be her savior, she should honor the choices he made in his life.
It hasn't been any different for at least 1400 years - and yet we have survived because of what G-d has promised us.
Remember, we may have the Mooselimbs on one side, and "this" on the other, but we have G-d above - and in the end, that is all that matters.
