Ben Carson, the retired neurosurgeon and Republican presidential candidate, suggested in an interview Thursday that the U.S. should have bathrooms specifically for people who are transgender.
Carson was responding to questions about a recent ordinance in Houston that would have established nondiscrimination protections for gay and transgender people. Voters rejected the ordinance after an 18-month battle in which opponents argued that allowing transgender men and women to use their preferred public bathrooms would open the door to sexual predators who wanted to enter women's restrooms.
Carson's response: "How about we have a transgender bathroom?"
"It is not fair for them to make everybody else uncomfortable," he said. "It's one of the things that I don't particularly like about the [LGBT] movement. I think everybody has equal rights, but I'm not sure that anybody should have extra rights--extra rights when it comes to redefining everything for everybody else and imposing your view on everybody else."

There are plenty of better reasons not to make Dr. Carson the Republican nominee.
My concern is that any candidate who stoops to answer trivial questions thrown at him by the media only invites more of the same.
We've seen it all before: boxers or jockey shorts? What's your favorite game show/sports team/musical group?
Reporters love to ask off-the-wall questions in hopes that a candidate will be caught off-guard and provide them an off-the-wall answer for the nightly news.
That's good for ratings and advertising sales but not especially helpful in choosing a candidate for office.
The only way to stop such abuses is to (politely) refuse to take the bait.
Oh I’m aware of his other fiascos too. But it just shows how poor his judgement is to do crap like this. His impulse control seems to be zero.
Trump, for all his Alpha, can get away with his statements because he’s done it forever and knows what and where to say what and how for max effect. this guy just seems ‘out there’.

Who the hell is going to pay for them? Are business owners supposed to take away more sales or restaurant seating space to install a bathroom just for freaks?
I submit you to be the one to pay for all these renovations.

Carson deflected the question and his intent was to say stay out of my bathroom aka the bathroom for normals. Stop believing the MSM. They lie.

It may be that Dr. Carson has unwittingly made himself into the laughingstock of this campaign season. On the other hand, millions like his sincerity.
